Hi all and Happy Thanksgiving.
As to PA. I mostly use them when we are traveling. I have it paid for by February every year. Last year we stayed in Texas at a park for two weeks at PA rate. Now thats savings.
As to restrictions they are in the book and are not hard to follow. I have never been suprised and the restrictions might mean looking at a different CG.
For us it works well and is a savings.

As fulltimers and workcampers we use Passport America whenever we criss-cross this great country. I've used PA since, well, longer than I can remember. I joined CCUSA early on too. But, over time I realized that many of the same campgrounds found through PA were joining CCUSA as well. So, we dropped CCUSA.
I really like the campground locator maps on the PA websites (Yes, there are or were 2 different websites for PA).
The membership pays for itself by the 2nd or 3rd night on the road.

It sure does --- joined this summer, used it at two parks in Arkansas on a recent trip and recouped by costs --- and then some! Cool deal.

I'm not sure that I agree with "forget it."
I travel to and from the Northeast nearly every year and often stay in PA parks along the way.
I just went to the PA website and - unless they are not up to date - there are the following:
DE & RI = 0 campgrounds
MD = 1 campground
VT = 4 campgrounds
CT & MA = 5 campgrounds
NH = 16 campgrounds
ME = 24 campgrounds
PA = 33 campgrounds
NY = 46 campgrounds
In some areas only state parks or county owned campgrounds are available. Neither will be a PA campground.

I had to tell Duffy's Dad that I forgot to look in the book!!! On our last trip, we stayed in 3 really nice parks in Wyoming and Montana for FULL PRICE only for me to discover a week later were Passport America parks. Bad Duffy's Mom!! Now I check where ever we are going.

Duffy's Mom,
Don't feel bad or alone. I've done the same thing with campgrounds we have always used on our trips to San Antonio and back. After 3 trips paying Good Sam prices I finally checked PA and found out both parks are the list. It's called a "learning experience", even if it does make me feel a little bit stupid.

Hi DB-Lew,
I'll take a new look at it soon.
I travel the I-95 route through NJ,NY,CT,MA,NH & ME. I could not find any near enough to make it worthwhile

Max,
My usual routine is to establish my driving route via Microsoft Streets & Trips. Then I search the program for campgrounds within 10 - 12 miles of my driving route. From there, I select the campgrounds that are about 300 miles apart along the route. (300 miles is my daily driving average at 60 mph). Once I have those campground names I cross-check the names against the PA website and whenever possible reserve my site - PA or otherwise -in advance.
This involved process is probably the result of my 30+ years in financial planning.

If you go to Mystic, CT the Seaport Campground is a PA, but the new owners would love to get out of contract {Morgan Group] with PA.
When we were there last summer. Counter help did every thing they could to deny they were Members. PA book was a good thing to have.
Spoke to manager the next day and he said they had some new help the day before.

A lot of PA rv parks will give you the same discount even if you are not a member. Try it and see. OR just tell them yep your a member and they will give you the same discount. Have yet to be denied.

Sounds like a nice place, but I think I'll wait a little while before going way up there.
