Pay Attention In Campgrounds

I am currently at a “U” shaped (actually more like a race track on the closed end) campground with a lake in the middle and 4x4 posts on the inside of the turn. Yesterday, I was chilling and noticed a rig coming thru the CG a bit faster than they should, probably 20 mph. Then I hear this whack whack whack sound. After speedy goes by, the 4x4 posts are all meaning over. The one way road here is about 30’ wide, so there is plenty of room and nobody was in his way. Just a hotshot being a hotshot - totally avoidable.

Those posts were falling over laughing at that one!

Probably had the music blaring inside the cab as well!
If the post had cable they could have danced down the road behind him!

Did he have a welded steel bumper on the truck?!

Probably, trying to keep the back end from hitting the outside poles or RVs I suppose. Cray cray with a rented rig or great insurance!
RUSTIC is good.
Kudos to those who make Local, State & Federal Parks & Campgrounds possible and to those picking up the slack by Providing Private Campgrounds.

There are lots of people attempting to drive RVs that honestly should not be driving a kid's tricycle.

A couple of years ago, I watched a fellow pull into an 18 ft wide by 75 ft long pull through site. It took him 30 minutes to get it straight in the site. He had the trailer and truck on the grass on opposite side of the site then reversed the process with the truck and trailer swapping sides. He had no business driving that rig.

Did you inform the CG Staff of the damage and who did it?

Idiots need to be put on notice...speeding, damaging property should not be ignored.

Glad it was some posts instead of some poor kid out riding a bike. It doesn't take too much inattention and life can change in an instant.

Glad you reported them.

We see speeding regularly at our 'home' CG as well as when we travel. It makes no difference whether it's a little Rpod TT or a 45 foot DP motor home complete with toad hooked on. You just cannot fix stupid when it comes to people driving

I've been amazed by the number of RVers speeding in campgrounds. With so many children and pets in a CG, I just can't imagine how selfish and self absorbed those drivers must be! Pray they only hit posts, landscape, and other people's toys.

Glad you reported them. No need for it.
Personally I love idleing through a campground hearing my diesel muttering. No rush.

Some people simply must attract attention to themselves-by some form; I suspect from insecurity within them.

Angry Slow Down folks...

This is perhaps my biggest pet peeve when out camping. Most CG's have a speed limit, typically 10 mph but very few do anything to enforce it. I cringe when I see little ones often unescorted in the CG as folks roar by at 25 and even 30+.

We have eliminated several CG's from our destination list especially the ones with dirt/gravel roads as we finally got sick of the endless dust clouds raised by these chuckleheads. Twice in my life I have witnessed a child being struck by a car and once it became a hit and run {what a piece of garbage}. After those incidents it is hard to have any tolerance for speeders.

I try to get to campgrounds on Thursdays so I can watch the Friday rush crowd coming in. Always lots of fun.
