Here we go:

Three or four years ago, right after buying the Windsor, the KVH satellite dome went belly-up. It was going to cost about $500 for fix it. I had a thread going about the problem, and one of our good friends here on IRV2 PM'd me that he had removed a KVH R5SL dome to update to HD, and he offered to give me his old one, that was working fine, just for the cost of shipping! Needless to say, I jumped on that, and the dome is still working great after all this time.
I have been looking for a way to "pay-it-forward", and finally was able to do that, at least in a small way.
We replaced our 3-burner gas cooktop with one of the double-burner True Induction cooktops, and had a thread going about the induction install. I mentioned that I would give the gas cooktop to anyone that needed one for the cost of shipping. Got an answer right back and was able to help someone else in need. It's a good feeling!

I recently upgraded my RV by replacing the existing 1 Panel and the Heliotrope RV-30D Controller with 4 Solar Panels and a new MPPT Solar Controller. While doing some searching on this forum, I ran across a member that was looking for that specific controller. I sent him a PM and sent him the controller for the cost of shipping.

While paying our own bill, we had the cashier tally four USAF personnel's breakfast bills at our favorite joint...geez, they were young! Made our day, though.

We went to breakfast a few weeks ago after Church. We saw the Assistant Principal of the Catholic School my Grandson goes to having breakfast with her family. I see her everyday when picking him up from School and she really takes care of those kids, watching over them when getting released from School ect. I know they don't pay any Teacher/School Administrator enough and it's even worse in the private school system.
We told the waiter to give us their bill and not to tell them it was us. He came back to us a few minutes later and asked us if we wanted to reconsider because they bought a whole pie to take home. I told him I didn't care just to give me their bill. We had their bill, but the waiter told them we picked it up. She came over and thanked us and said nobody in her entire career had ever done that, and then asked if she could at least pay for the pie. We told her no, we would get the whole bill and we just wanted her to know how much she was appreciated. She was almost in tears, but it made us feel better than you could imagine that something so minor would mean so much to a deserving person.

At an Olive Garden for dinner a few weeks ago, saw an Army Lieutenant, in uniform, having diner alone. We picked up his tab anonymously of course.

A married police officer with two young children was shot and killed in the line of duty. His name is Allen Jacobs and I believe he was from N. Carolina. We sent the family a card with a check enclosed. It will not ease their pain and loss, but hopefully will help them a little with the financial strain they must be experiencing. If you would like to also help, just google Police officer Allen Jacobs. The collections are thru a local community bank.

Recently we upgraded from a rig with 30 amp power to one with 50 amp service. In the process we wound up with a unneeded 30 amp surge protector. A few weeks ago we met a lovely couple in a CW waiting room that had just bought their first RV and it had 30 amp service. When we got home we sent them the surge protector with our best wishes. A few days later we received a nice gift card for Crackle Barrell with their best wishes.

As part of an inspection team, we were heading to Portland, OR to conduct an inspection of a unit. Boarding our flight from Dallas I noticed about 5 soldiers in their camo's. I asked one of them if they were headed home and was told they were on their 2 week leave from Iraq and had to return for 6 more months after their 2 weeks was up.
I found a flight attendant, and told her that I would cover the bill for anything the soldiers wanted during the four hour flight. The flight attendant looked at me and said "honey, that's sweet, but as long as I am on here they ain't payin' for nuthin'.
At the end of the flight the Captain came over the intercom, and asked that we all remain seated so the soldiers could deplane first. As they left, the entire plane started clapping. It was a great feeling.

When we were a bit younger, we had 3 Girl Scout troops coming to hour house for meetings and trip planning. One little girl at first shied away from me and hung on Sharon like a fly on a sticky bun. Then after weeks of meetings she started to soften up to me and we actually could talk to each other. We called her Boots because that is all she would wear at our house. I found out she always got the handme downs from her brothers, and "I never got new clothes in all my life".
Being very careful, we got my daughters to donate bag of things in Boots size and donated them to the little girls church with a message they should give them to this little girls family. At the next meeting she came in beaming and showing all of her "brand new things" her mom had given her! She said "I can't wait till next week and show you more things I got"! What a good feeling. I think my girls got more out of that donation then the Boots did!

We stay in the same park during our "summer" at home.
There are always newbies coming through the park and lots
of Americans on the way to Alaska.
A few weeks back a MH from California pulled into the park.
The couple came over and asked if they could take us out for dinner.
I asked "why" and they said that we had helped out their son
with a problem on his rig, and he wanted to thank us.
A very good feeling.
We are always trying to assist newbies and strangers coming
through, but this is done from the heart.
I have always tried to live by "The Golden Rule".
Thanks for the topic.
