Pellet smoker, 12v or 110v

Hello all,
Time to step up the camping game. I have a pellet smoker at home, the misses thinks i should have one for camping also, looking at a few Green Mountain / Trager, and such. I will have 110v on board via my battery bank / converter. is there a big difference in the 12v or 110v models? is one better than the other?
thanks for your input.

Pellet smoker, 12v or 110v

I have the GMG Davy Crockett and it runs on 12v or 110v. We take it camping occasionally but gets a lot of use at home. Really like the control and size.

BTW the 110v is just a power supply that outputs 12v. So in essence their is no difference in performance.

I have a GMG Davey Crockett that I carry. It has a larger pit area than the Traeger and does have a PID controller for better temperature control. Only downside is that it is a little heavy

I use the Rec Tec 340, the legs fold up and you can pull it around like a cooler.
Once the legs are folded up it fits in one of my bays. Also it has the wifi so you can use your phone to start or stop the grill from anywhere.

I've got a big pit boss the we roll out of the rv and use about once or twice a month. I just plug it in the outlet on exterior of rv and feed it pellets and let that butt smoke for 23 hours. Just did one 3 days ago. You can't buy bbq this good

We just got the Country Smokers Traveler from Lowes. It's not real big, but there's only 2 of us. So far it's worked great.

Thanks all for the inputs. We did look at coastal farm recently at the Traegars and GMG. Traegar looked small w/low hood height. So its out. The GMG and REC340 had great reviews online. 2 types I saw had those fold it and tote it like a cooler wheels. Pretty cool. Yup like the 12v option. Don't need to convert my 12v battery to 110v inside the trailer then step back down to 12v w/ the smoker converter. Ill just need to put a plug on the outside.

I love my Traegar. I have the small portable one that is large enough to cook everything I need and light enough to carry. I carry it in the back of our tow car. On the rare occasion we don't have campground power, I fire up the genny when using the smoker.

We recently bought the GMG Trek. I believe it is the newer version of the Davey Crocket.
Our first pellet smoker. The size, build quality, and performance is great.
We love it!
