Just out of curiosity, does anyone recommend other truck stop brands or chains besides pilot and flying j?

Same here. And since we're about the same size as a normal tractor-trailer rig (when the Wrangler is in tow), I never get any issues about using the truck pumps.

When I was driving truck I preferred Petro truck stops, I really can't speak as to how MH friendly they are(just got my MH).

I wounder why my FJ/P on line account says.
Pump Start
Card Number 79000566XXXX
Status Activated
Gallons From Goal 0

So that is not true and it still need's to be activated by a employee?

Actually, it has to be activated by a manager and the first time you use it you will still need to go inside because you must purchase 1 gallon to get things started.

Actually, we have decided to refuse to use Flying J's if at all possible. Up until this year, we tried supporting Flying J exclusively.

We just finished a trip from Canada down to California and back, and I'm happy to say that we did not use a Flying J once! Came close once. Filled at an independent that was beside a Flying J. Does that count? I hope not.

We came to the end of being able to put up with poor service with long delays. When you're trying to reach a destination, it really hurts to lose an hour or two just to try to buy a little bit of fuel. Plus, we've never had a Flying J employee smile and say thank you. Not once. They act like we're one of their biggest problems.

It's not more expensive to buy elsewhere. We'd rather support people that really appreciate our business.

I would think if your account says activated and zero gallons you are good to go. Apparently you have already requested Pump Start at some point.

Have you tried using it in the truck lanes yet?

The Flying J program is explained in detail on their FAQ page, a link to that may be found in this discussion http://www.irv2.com/forums/f59/flyin...ion-81629.html

We liked the Flying J's because they have gasoline RV lanes so we do not have to get in the way of the cars. Also propane was on the islands and can get that filled as well. These were in Florida they were great. Will use them again.

I have not been in a Flying J since last September.
I only signed up on line a month or so ago with my old FJ RV card number.
They did have the total amount of gal. I had bought back then in my account. Amount was way less then the 500 required at the time I signed up for the start.

Over the last 9 years I have bought 99% from FJ.
I always use the RV Islands and have no problem getting in and out of them pulling a toad.

The only time's I have used the truck pumps was at a IN. FJ that doesn't have a RV Island, once at a IL. FJ that the Diesel pumps at the RV Island were shut off and one time at a KY. FJ as there was a long waiting line at the RV Island and non at the truck pumps.

I guess I will find out on May 7th my first summer trip stop in GA. If they have things figured out yet.
I have been checking prices out for nearby Walmart/Murphy stations. But I would need a 10˘ a gal. difference to make it worth while, trying to get in and out one of those.

My fill ups range from 21-59 and I always check out the FJ price on line where to stop. They have 3 stations on I75 in GA. And there can be a 5˘ difference between them at times.

Today at Exit 2 $3.859
Exit 210 $3.899
Exit 320 $3.879

When you check prices on line don't forget to add 7% for their IN. stations.

Talked to Flying J people at FMCA rally in Perry,GA, got a new RV card and activated it there at the booth. The card will start pumps at RV or truck islands. After pumping you go inside and pay. Get cash price if you pay with credit card and 3 cents off diesel. They said most of the pre-merger cards will not work. I will find out if the info is correct on my way home.

We were at the FMCA rally this week in Perry, and talked to the guy at the Pilot/Flying J booth. He said the cards were still good and should be no problem if used at the RV pump. He said to always use your credit card first, and it will then prompt you to use your Pilot/Flying J card. We did use it on our way home and got the cash price using our credit card and a $.03 per gallon discount.

On Friday, March 18, I filled up at the J in Ft. Pierce, Florida. My RV Real Value Card (old card) did work at the truck pumps! I received a lower price than the credit price. The receipt is different than in the past. The discounts are not detailed. The price on the sign was $3.839/gallon. I paid $3.769 on the receipt. The pump start feature did work. The procedure is different than in the past.
1. Insert your RV Real Value Card or Frequent Fueler Card.
2. The pump should recognize you as an RV customer.
3. At the bottom of the screen it will say you are authorized for pump start.
4. Press the continue button.
5. Pump the fuel.
6. Pull forward to let the next vehicle have access to the pump.
7. Go into the store, pay for the fuel and obtain a receipt.
