Pin holes in slide cover

My main slide cover has a number of pin holes but otherwise is in decent shape. Too many to patch with the clear awning tape. Replacement covers are a last resort and I am looking for something that I can apply that is flexible but thick enough to cover the leaky spots. Anyone had this problem and found a solution?

Thanks for the suggestion. It looks like the flex steel goes on pretty thick and the slide topper has to roll up. Have you tried flex steel for this type of application and if so brush or roll on?

Good evening Catch14me; I don't know how much time or how many pin holes you have in your topper awning. I once used the clear awning repair tape and was not super impressed with it's performance. Then I found out that Gorilla products, the ones that make the glue and etc., make a clear repair tape. A lot better adhesion to surfaces, in my opinion. I got it either Lowes or Home Depot. The stuff really sticks! Or it's topper replacement time. If so contact Stone Voss. When it's topper replacement time for me, that is where I am going. Hope this info helps and good luck!

I own a Tent Rental company we use a super glue like product we buy from Tentsupply.com from Tampa, Florida it come in small bottles with applicator it works on small holes but not larger. Make sure to let dry before you roll up.

If they are truly pin holes you might want to try a seam sealer. It is used to help waterproof tents by sealing the holes left after the fabric pieces are sown together. Can find it at any outdoor store.

Thanks everyone for suggestions. I am trying to get through the rest of the year and am checking out everything mentioned and looking as well. Ultimately new toppers but we have plans for the rest of the year and are trying to get by keeping water off the slide. Seems it rains every other day and water ponding on the slide topper is finding it's way through the tiny holes.

I don't have suggestions on filling pin holes but: In July I had three slide toppers replaced - bought them from Stone Vos in Brooksville, FL. (352-942-0024) They will ship them to you and you can install them or have a shop install them. Since I was in Florida I had them installed - Stone Vos doesn't install them but they recommended a small business that did. That installer charged $100 a cover for installation but he added some caulk to a couple places on top at no charge.

I used Paraffin wax on the threads on my awning to seal them. It might work here.

Sealing slide out cover

Walmart sells some aerosol waterproofing spray in sporting goods for about $6. I used it for years (resprayed every 2- 3 years) on my '01 Monaco Diplomat as the slide out covers would sag and fill with water and leak onto the actual slide outs. It worked great. I don't know if it will help with pin holes, but for $6 you can't go wrong trying it. My opinion is that it will seal pin holes.

Also the side seam stitching disintegrated and I just hand stitched in a replacement and never had to replace again (8-10 years.) I think the Walmart waterproofing spray protected it.

With a little reservation after trying spray on waterproofing I applied some flexsteel spray. The pin holes must have been to large and numerous for the kiwi spray. The flexsteel spray didn't go very far but looked like it might work so I purchased a can and brushed on thin with a stiff brush. Not an exact match on the color so I covered the entire slide topper. After a couple of rain showers it appears to do the job until I can order a replacement from the recommended Florida company. Some time back I had Camping World replace a topper but I was not satisfied with the material used.

I'm at the beach right now but I have four Stone Vos slide covers waiting in my garage to be installed next week when I get home. Several years ago I helped a friend install four on his Monaco so I was aware of the Stone Vos quality.
