Just got some info on Pioneer Fuel. They are a card lock system and have partnered with Pacific Pride. They offer 1400 truck stops nationwide and in Canada. They claim all their truck stops are large enough to accommodate any size rig.
They offer a couple of payment options including assigning the monthly purchases to your credit card or automatic bank payment (EFT). Unlike some other card lock systems there is no minimum gallonage required, you just pay for what you get. I haven't yet found out their fuel prices, but they claim to use the "Rack Price" (the local price they pay) plus a "drastically" reduced mark up. Their website is www.pioneerfuel.com
Anybody use Pioneer Fuel or have information on them?
Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the post. There is a station about 15 miles from my house. Next time I get down that way, I'll go see what their prices are.

I tried Pacific Pride a couple years ago, but gave up on them. In AZ I could usually get the same price at other local stations. In Southern Calif. they were often higher priced. In many cases when they were cheaper it wasn't cheap enough to make the extra driving to get to their few stations worthwhile. Also they do not post prices at their stations, you must call them for the price at the location you wish to use. It was not always easy to reach anyone at the phone number. It may work for some people, but more hassle than it was worth for me.
I almost forgot, the pumps don't show the dollar amount of your purchase, only the gallons delivered, so if there is a price change between the phone call and purchase, you don't know till you are billed later.

This is probably great for a business, but for an individual, I'd be leery of filling out their application. They ask not only for your bank account and credit card information, but they also ask for your SS#...not information *I'm* willing to give just to save a few pennies on diesel.

Hi Linda,
You are correct about the SS# as a field on their application. Like you, I would never provide this information. If after some more investigation and reading responses here, I decide to get a card, they will get my business without my SS number or no business at all.

Have used them for several years without any problem. Yes, you do not know what the price is untill you get your statement. If you use them and want credit you are going to have to give them your SS#. No business that gives credit is going to give it without. My statement comes at the end of the month and they get paid.
I agree that they are not in the best locations, but in my case when I get home they are the the only place within 10 miles of home. I like to park on full tank.
Most times prices are about the same as pump prices at stations in the area.

Those are pretty much limited to banks and insurance companies. Your SSAN is not going to help them find you if you bounce a check on them. And it is not allowed by federal law in the credit reporting business.
