Tell the others about your old company.

Thank you Bill for referencing my old company. I began working for them when I was 19 and retired 6 years ago after putting in 47 years. We were able to keep our family farms during this time and are still cattle farming today.

I do think they wouldn’t mind an rv in their parking lots, but generally their lots are small and you’d have to be gone before employees start coming to work. They have branch units in 20+ states with 3 manufacturing plants. Oh yea, my old company was Blue Bell Ice Cream.

Unless that includes electricity then it is not a deal at all cause you can always park for free overnight at trucks stops.

It is a matter of do you want my business or do you not. And car customers get the same offer.

Places to stop overnight.

Sooooo, you bring in a measly 20, and you want them to spend 30. The 20 of junk you buy isn’t even 109% profit for them. Makes perfect business sense to me🤫[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Cracker Barrel can definitely do without a RVer's business. There aren't that many that park there and spots would be filled by car customers.

Your comment previously was: " how about if I spend $20 or more for a meal--isn't that worth something?"

I don't understand what you're trying to say by "and car customers get the same offer". My question was: What do car customers get for buying a meal?

I just don't understand your logic of getting electric just because you ate there.

Access to free/cheap overnight places seems vary greatly if drive the Interstates or the back roads. Cracker Barrels, big truck stops and many casinos are frequently near the big roads. Get away from those and choices change a lots. In the western US BLM land is frequently a good bet as are some US Fish and Wildlife areas.

IMO- you really need to have a full tool box of options and depends where you travel.

OnRoute's in Ontario (mostly along the 400 series highways) now have dedicated RV parking spots. They also have picnic areas that look a lot like mini RV parks. When entering, follow the truck lane, it will then give you an RV turn off point where the parking is

Aside from being close to traffic noise, that is a nice option for an overnight stay. Thanks for sharing.

Not sure and dont quote me, but they are rest areas and I doubt you'd get a knock in the picnic area. They have these about every hour on the highway, great resource.

We spent 5 weeks on the road 2 years ago spending only 2 one-week stays in a park. We used Rest Stops and Truck Stops, Walmart's, Bass Pro and even a few side streets for 1 night stops. Loves has good intentions, but way to pricey !!! I'm self contained so I don't need any hook ups for a 1 night stay !

I had heard Love's was doing this but finally saw one in Dalhart Texas on my last trip through there. For A full hookup back-in with 30-Amp and 50-Amp electric service on a concrete Site 50ft long 12ft wide. Wi-Fi is included would cost $42.50. No that's not cheap but not to bad and it would be convenient as it is just off the main road.

Not sure if anyone mentee it, but the TOgO RV app has an “Overnight parking” feature that reports locations that allow overnight stays and supported by users conforming information. I’ve used this quite a bit for accuracy. Example, all Cracker Barrel’s do not allow overnight parking.
