Plants and more

When at the state park on our 10 day beach trip....I was super surprised by the number of people who bring plants in pots. Live plants of all sorts, ferns, flower pots (big ones at that ) and some had tomatoe plants in pots and even one looked like a little herb garden pot arrangement. A lot of hanging flower pots and big containers that are on the ground filled with live flowers.

We just are not that type to travel with plants. I see plants in nature, all around, any pretty landscapes done by homeowers and more on our trips, we just never feel the need to bring them along with us camping.

But I sure understand many love to have them on their sites and enjoy them.

So curious how many of you are toting around tons of planters and hanging plants etc. in your campers or trucks? Just wondering......

Some people live in their RV full-time (instead of "camping") and don't have a s&b where they can grow their plants...

Well we certainly don't travel with a "ton of planters" but my wife likes tending her 3 or 4 pots of succulents which we have been nurturing for almost 4 years. Just a little way of gardening on the road. And a nice planter on the picnic table does add a nice touch to our site.

When time to leave we stow away the plants in the back of the Jeep.

We have a pair of shamrocks that love to travel (they do better in the MH than at our fixed-place home), plus a small basil plant that gets trimmed when DW needs the leaves for cooking.

So true FC but there were campers that did a stay shorter than us, but of course they could be full timers moving around a lot more....that would make sense of it all

JJ, shamrocks that love to travel LOL now I heard everything, but that is a funny good everything jest cool!

Wb, stow in the back of the jeep, good spot for easy travel and not cumbersome at all, like that.

One site had his 4 corners of his carpet put down by pot containers with flowers which was super pretty while we just stake them down to the ground but when I thought, hmmm, planters are nice but they are alive and require 'work' to live vs. our metal stakes, he then whipped out a leaf blower from his car and I thought, ok, he is HOME at this point, doing all the home chores in his site and a leaf blower is something we would never carry at all....but again, to each his own on it all
