Please help rv toilet issue

Hello, I'm sure the answer is out there but I can't find it on my little phone. We are new full time rvers...this is our first time rving and we live in it (87 mallard tt) so that we can be close to hubbys base and still make our house payment. I came "home" from a visit to my folks and the rvs toilet is full of pee...when I push down on the floor peddle nothing happens. The peddle won't go down and the little ball valve thing dosent open. What can I do to fix this? Also to note we have NO water hooked up to the trailer, we use a bucket to flush the toilet (pee only, paper goes in trash) I also added lots of water and a bit of chem to control the pee odor and its all still in the bowel.
Thank you

You don't say what brand and model your toilet is, but there is probably some sort of linkage between the pedal and the valve, and it's possible the linkage has come apart. Sometimes there is a plastic cover on the side of the bowl that covers the mechanism. Our cover is held on by Velcro.

A little more information as mentioned of the brand of the toilet would be a big help in getting an answer to your question. There should be a sticker on it somewhere.

If the peddle won't go down, the ball valve is jammed or the shaft between the pedal and the ball has frozen up. You can see the Sealand 910 mechanism in this parts diagram:

My guess is that you will need to replace the ball valve, or at least disassemble it to figure out what has jammed it.
