Poll: Full time RVing Vs. Part time RVing

I have been noticing there are many more new posts with people that are new to RVing that want to go full time. There are also many on this forum who already full time. Some people sell their sticks, some don't. Some RV 3 to 6 months or more throughout the year. Thought it would be interesting to have a poll to see the percentages/numbers for members of our irv2 forum.

I voted "I sold most possessions to RV full time"

You may take the poll anonymously (privately) or you may leave comments.

Howdy!

We sold our home and have been fulltiming now for over four years. We recently purchased a homebase in Texas near the Escapees. Our homebase property has RV FHU's and storage.

We need to get home at least once a month so we take short trips. We usually use the RV for two or three weeks per month.

We still own our stick house, but come home for about 6 weeks each year.

We sold everything to full-time. We have some property in West Texas which we plan to develop a bit as a home base with FHUs and a place to work on the rig.

We stick with the stick and RV about 1 - 8 weeks a year. Could be a bit more next year.

In 1999 we sold the house and everything in it and started fulltiming. After ten years and one month fulltiming we build a house in a RV community in southern Alabama. Now we travel 5-7 months a year.

Right now we usually just camp with our Class A RV. A 36ft 2008 Fleetwood Bounder. We are getting ready to make our first long trip from South Alabama to San Antonio, and maybe then onto Vegas.

In 1982 I did the Jerry Reed deal. She got the gold mine, I got the shaft.

On the back of my rv is a sign that says "The shaft".

We have been full timing since April. Couldn't sell our home, so we are renting it out. We sold 90% of our belongings. Gave family pieces to the kids. We plan so we can be back for Grandchildrens birthdays and holidays.

We live in S. Fl. and it takes over a day to get out of the state so we do a lot of local trips. State parks are great when you are a senior citizen; 1/2 price camping. Not ready to give up all the "stuff" yet, but would like to simplify our lives as much as possible. We travel on one long, 1or 2 month trip a year and many small ones of 3 days to a week each.

We don't RV as much as we would like to. Right now it's several 1 to 2 week trips a year and lots of weekends, with no plans for us to full time.
