Port Aransas beach camping

We stayed right on the beach in Port Aransas 2 years ago, just paid for a $12. Window sticker, we stayed 3 weeks. I heard they have changed it to just 3 days
We heard there is a certain mile marker you can stay at longer. Can anyone give me the situation on that? Thanks

$52 for one night (or up to 3) and you get nothing for it. Not so cool anymore

"Dry camping/boondocking" on Port Aransas city beach is $40 for one night (or up to 3).
"Parking" your Toad or tow vehicle in the parking areas between markers 52 and 58 is free.

BTW the city owned IB Magee Beach RV Park with FHU is inland over the dunes. (and 6 or 7 privately owned RV parks on the same island)

Does anyone here have firsthand info about actual enforcement of the three day limit during Jan. Feb. March time of year?

Their website says $12 for small campers plus another $40 for large coaches over some feet. The guy who goes one foot over would be pissed.

It is worse than I remembered. $52 is for any RV/camper with no hookups.
Port Aransas

Much better is nearby Goose Island Campground at $18 a night with electric/water but that is on the bay. Any actual beach site is a big premium.

Methinks you are reading that wrong.

"Overnight camping" on the beach in Port Aransas, (whether in a sleeping bag. a tent or a RV/camper). is $40 for up to 3 days/nights... with no hookups available.

"Parking your toad or tow vehicle" on the beach. whether you are camping on the beach or not. is $12.

However "parking your toad or tow vehicle in the free parking areas between between the Jetties and Horace Caldwell Pier and between Markers 52-58 while you are camping on the beach is FREE.

Been there...done that, (for 3 nights a month ago).

See: Port Aransas

You can stay on the beach at the town of Magnolia Beach for free. Max stay is two weeks.

Goose island in Texas is indeed a great place! Too humid/hot during middle of summer though!
