Possible Part Time Work

delivering Pop-ups, TTs, and 5vers ?
While I was at one of my local RV dealerships getting plumbing parts, a salesman was telling me about a new Law in Kentucky that says RV dealers selling units that are NOT street legal to drive MUST delivered out of state if they are not collecting Kentucky sales tax on that unit.
I told him I would be interested in delivering units like that and that I drive a school bus and had a towing service in the 90s.
He said it took effect this week and they were asking customers if they had any larger Trucks they wanted to trade in.
I stopped by and gave them a resume yesterday and the sales guy siad they were interested in me for that position.

They told me that the off road motorcylces, SxSx, and ATVs are going to have to be delivered out of state if the buyer is out of state as well.

This dealer is only 5 miles from the KY-OH border and 8 miles from the eastern tip of WV.
This might fit in well with the School bus driving job. although I'd have to go up one class to a Class A lic to tow anything over 10K.

If you move any thing for anyone other than yourself you are governed by the DOT federal rules and regulations. You must have a dot number and it must be on your tow vehicle, and you must have a medical card and run a log book just for starters. Do not get caught running without the above, as the fines can get very high. Just saying.....but you can do as you like. Most find it's not a money maker. I looked into it and decided it was not worth it to me.

Having been in the past a Police officer I'm fully aware of that. I'd be driving for the RV dealership in one of their trucks.

Won't it still have to be streel legal; lights, brakes and tires to be delivered (driven on public roads)?

?? of course. these are brand new units from the dealer. This dealer seems like he does it by the book which i like.

He says when he sells anything towable he has the customer bring in the Tow vehicle and make sure it has everything it needs. Then they show the customer how it all hooks up. and they test them pout on the property before they hit the road.
With this new law he says he will still do all that but can't let the customer tow them off the property unless they are KY residents with KY plates on their vehicle.
This is where his new delivery drivers com into play.
he says he has more than enough business to keep 1 person doing this full time and at least 2 maybe 3 more part time.
we talked about which days would work best for me and of course i told i was free M-F 5P-11P every week once school got going.
told me to fill out a app and he would forward my name to a company he uses for HR clearance.

Well between this and Lowe's I am busy. The only reason i'm still working at Lowes is because I'm not sure there will be much work at all in RV delivery's in the winter months.
Drove 320 miles today round trip. left at 1030AM got back on the lot at 6PM.
