Power Gear Landing pads all bent.

Any tips on how the pad is held to the piston? I read how to unbolt the spring in the up position. Doesn't look easy to get to the top bolt. Maybe wooden sticks in the spring is easier? Does the spring hold the pad on? c

I looked up some of there pads/parts for sale looks like bolts from bottom. These are also listed as Lippert brand. I know there was a lot of buying other brands after bank crisis.

Spring removal

I was reading something a long time ago about the safest way to change/remove springs. The trick is find clothes pins (a lot) of them. Extend jacks till they almost hit the ground and then take the clothes pins and put them between the Coils. As you do this add a clothes pin to one side than the other to keep it even. Then release jacks they will retract some till spring tension is lost, then put a block and pry bar under jack and push jack up till there is no pressure on spring. Then release spring from pad. Replace pad and reverse to attach spring.

I called Lippert. The tech said there was a bolt on the bottom. He didn't know. Mine is smooth. I guess dropping the spring will tell if it is only a pin into the bottom of the piston. I will report back someday when I get into it.

My RVA jacks have swivel foot. I think it like ball and socket its one of the two pads they sell not sure . I see they went to 10" x 3/8 " plate from 8" x 1/4. I actually was thinking of just welding bigger 3/8" circles to my old feet. $155 ea. isn't terrible but I am thinking of going bigger than 10" my home and camping club is sandy.
