Problem with Closing doors

We have a Forest River TT. We had an issue a few months ago because we forgot to lock one of the pocket doors open while we were traveling. When we got to our destination, the door had come off the track. A friend was able to fix it for us & we were good to go!! On our last trip, we were sure that the 2 doors were locked open. When we got home, we found the same door off track again!! The problem we seem to be having is that we can't get the screw to slide into the groove so it can be locked in with the "u" shaped hook so it's secure.

We don't know why this happened since the door was locked open & why, since it seems so simple, is the screw not sliding into the groove as it should? We've gone to You Tube looking for some help, all we seem to find are videos showing how to replace the whole track & some other issues but nothing regarding our issue.

Thanks in advance for any help you campers may have!!

We have a TT with sliding door (not Forest River) that has a strap with snaps that secures the door open. It is centered on the door, halfway down. Sounds like having your lock at the top of the door still allows it to shift at the bottom and fall off the track.
