After working with progressive for many years as a repair shop I would pay more in premium to anyone else than have progressive on any of my stuff.

Do this. Wander into any repair shop. Boats, Rvs, and ask the office/ owner who the worst insurance company they deal with is?
Have a full cup of coffee and some time. It will quickly become obvious who you do not want as a insurer.

It is SOP for insurance companies to raise premiums year-on-year. I spent several years with State Farm. Eventually, I went shopping for other quotes and saved over $1,200 by going with Geico. I called the agent to see if they could match the Geico price. He offered to save me $50 a year by tagging my daughter a "good student". When I asked if there was anything else available, he hung up on me.

I had a few years with Geico until I got tired of the 10-15% increases every year. Then went to Progressive for a couple of years. That went up 50% in 3 years, so went back to Geico who (shock) were now cheaper than Progressive.

It's a game you have to play every 2-3 years.

Insurance companies do not reward loyalty.

Don't get me started on their 'safe driver' rewards. More BS.

Progressive went up $100 on me in Oklahoma. Same situation; lots of insurance claims in the past year. They're still the cheapest and I've always liked doing business with them.

Insurance

If you join FMCA. They quote through 4 company's. Progressive wanted $1500 when I applied for full time by myself. Went thru FMCA and price came down to $1100.

Go back to GS and tell them about the rate increase....they'll find you another policy, through them, that will be cheaper. That's what they did for me when Prog greatly increased the rates.

My dear mother worked in insurance most of her life. She told me that other than not having claims the way to the cheapest premiums was to change companies every 3 or 4 years. They reward themselves for YOUR loyalty.
