PU truck

I have an 07 Frontier of which I think is fantastic. I got an ARE cap for it of and it's wonderful. My question is my "wild dog". He goes beserk in the back seat or the back of the truck. Other than that he's a ***** cat. I'm getting a new door/window for the cap that has a slide with a screen to give him some air while he's back there. Any suggestions for getting an electical hook-up there to run a fan to keep him cool?

Hi!

No suggestions on the hookup, but here's a tip for you as far as the "wild dog" is concerned...
I've found a couple drops of Bach's Rescue remedy on my dog's tongue has a remarkably calming effect in that kind of situation.
In fact, I've been told that this stuff is actually carried by mountain rescue teams, and they give it to overexcited "victims".
Don't know if that's true or not, but it sure works on my pup!

Rescue Remedy: Natural Stress Relief

Good Luck with the fan question!

What about just an inverter plugged into your lighter outlet. You can buy inverters at auto part stores, walmart and such.

Picture would be great..............my dad installed a fan in the cap on his pickup for his dogs..............just need to find a hot wire somewhere. The fans are available at Wallyworld, pretty cheap. I have both the clamp on kind and the more permanent mounting kind. I use the clamp on kind of 12v fan in the motorhome to help when all that pretty picture glass on the front comes into contact with old SOL............hope this helps...........ronspradley

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I'm going to try to get a 12volt connection directly to the 8 pin for the trailer Monday or Tuesday. As far as the Rescue advice I'd probably go for the alcolhol version so if it doesn't work on the dog, I'll take it. On the serious side he's an Australian Cattle dog that's evidently had some mis-treatment. We are his 3 owner and he is a nice dog with the exception of what I've mentioned. We've tried a couple of homeopathic solutions and they have proven to be a waste of money. My SO's daughter is a Vet in Brazil and she says the only thing that works is a Psychiatric drug (deluted for pets) that will calm them down for trips. We'll see.

If he is a rescue like all of ours he may have been "dumped" from a car or truck. Our latest one would get nervous when we first took him anywhere in the car. Went as far as to jump out of the door of a rag top while still harnessed to the child restraint and swing back and forth like a pendulum on the side of the car. We were only going back the MH for something. If he could be right in your lap he wasn't so nervous.

Happily he got over it after a while since we always came back and never left him. Your boy will get over it in time.

I realize an automatic profanity filter did this censoring but it's still ridiculous.
