i came across thru good sams' that they offered a free personal travel website. was just wandering if any of you had one or knowledge of how good it was and if it really was free.
leaving for our trip in few weeks will be gone a month thought that would be a neat way to stay in touch with family.
thanks for any info

Internet providers (at least some) have a web site available if you want to set it up. I know our provider does but I haven't tried to use it yet. I have the dubious distintion of being webmaster of a web site for our tractor club so haven't taken time to try another one.

Stacy,
The Good Sam travel site is a good one. I used it when we did a trip cross country. It allows you to do a daily log and insert pictures. It has a mapping feature that allows you to indicate your progress across country (or anywhere in the world.) You also invite friends to get updates if they want the emails telling them to log on and view you travel info.
I think I paid about $25 a few years ago, but it may be free now.
It is easy to do and fun for those keeping track of you.

I use "Freeservers" myself.
If you do the "Good Sams" deal when you upgrade Good Sams gets a cut of your payment.

We created our blog at www.blogger.com. It was free and seems to work well. Our friends can access it and make comments. If you are desperate for reading material check out http://billandconnieatlarge.blogspot.com. Hope you like corn.

many ISPs allow multiple e-mail address and for each address, space for a personal website. I have 2 different websites, one for each email address.

When we took our cross country trip in '05 we created and updated a Blog also so everyone could follow alngs with us and they could include comments for us. Interestingly enough, a woman in India who was following our trip attached a comment. See signature for an example if you're interested.
