Question on receiving shipments while traveling

Hi! Hopefully this is the right forum for this question. I am currently in Alaska but will be shipping my RV to Washington and flying there to pick it up. Ready to start my full-time travels. I need a solar power station but you cannot order one shipped to Alaska. It is not an option for me because 1. I need power for health reasons and 2. for budget reasons I will be avoiding RV parks.
My question -- how does one receive shipments when on the road? I would like to be able to order and pick up one of these in Tacoma before I begin my journey but have no idea how to do so. Help?

Solar power station ? Most solar installs are lots of wire, fuses, connectors, heat shrink, etc..... and require lots of skilled labor to install.

Are you looking for something portable, and plug-n-play?

I believe you are looking for a portable solution that can be recharged via solar or AC, like a Jackery or similar. Amazon will ship to a locker location. We do it all the time while on the road. It is the most secure way we have found to get shipments.

So far, we've been able to have Amazon, Costco and REI orders shipped to the RV parks (not state parks) we've stayed at as well as to general delivery at post offices.

Amazon, in our experience, has been easiest with multiple pick up locations, including Whole Foods stores. We have had very recent issues with Costco orders shipped by UPS though. No issues when Costco ships USPS for general delivery.

We use a Goal Zero yeti for portable power and just bought another 100 watt panel from Goal Zero and a Goal Zero cable from REI, both of whom shipped to the RV park where we're staying.

General Delivery is another option with two caveats:

1. The package must be shipped via USPS.

2. Verify with the actual post office that they do in fact accept General Delivery packages. Had the PO on Nellis AFB unceremoniously send our mail back even though the website said they accept it.

Wow! Thank you all for your answers!! I am an Amazon shopping addict and never knew about the pick-up locations! Lots of exclamations here because I'm excited to be able to check my last, and very real concern. What a great forum.
Thank you again!

Lots of good options, but be sure to check with the RV Park office before having anything shipped to you at a park/resort.

Many do not allow it. I'm seeing more and more places where this is the case. They can get very prickly, to the point of throwing you out, if you do.

Has to do with their fear of creating a situation where you might claim their park is your place of residence which brings a whole different set of legal rules into play in their dealings with you, zoning entities, and whatnot. (Think hotel room vs. apartment)

Good luck with your purchases.

Regards,

Randy
