Question on storing an RV
Hoping to get some insight from others on where you store your RV. I've been looking in south Central Wisconsin. The only indoor facilities don't seem to be big enough to handle a motorhome. Do you generally store your RV outdoors? Even over the winter?
I don't have any land available on my property to park (and neighborhood wouldn't allow it even if I did). My wife and I would really like to buy something in the +/- 30' range, but we just don't know what to do about storing it.
So, hoping others have suggestions, or maybe even recommendations of storage locations in the greater Madison area. Thanks

The majority of MH owners store theirs outdoors. While some do store inside a building, as you mentioned they aren't always big enough buildings, at affordable prices.

Question on storing an rv
After buying our first 5th wheel, I wondered the same. The week after we winterized a local fairground announced they were storing boats, cars and RVs in the display buildings Nov to April, priced by the foot. Very glad we took them up on it.

Hello fellow Badger. I live South of Madison, but am fortunate to have room in my driveway, and store outside. I don't have any advice for you regarding indoor options, but I am sure you will have better luck finding outdoor parking. One place in Middleton is called "The Storage Guy", don't have any personal experience with them, but it might be what you're looking for. I use an ADCO cover, and have vinyl runner material (cheap from Menards) under my wheels as a moisture / frost barrier. You should be fine to store outside, even without a cover, for a while at least. When we were looking for indoor options to store our boat several years ago, we found them to be ridiculously expensive, so I can't imagine it's any better for RV's. What kind of RV do you have? We got ours at Winnebago Motor Homes in Winnebago IL (just West of Rockford). I think they provide winter storage and have great service. Send me a PM if you want additional information, good luck!

We store ours at a boat dealer's. Most of his storage is for boats, but he has a few building with individual RV stalls. Ours is 50' x 20'.

This may be a dumb question, but are there any specific concerns to storing a diesel pusher outdoors over the winter? It gets quite cold in Wisconsin and would having the rig sit idle for 4 or 5 months be a problem?
