Like He said- needs only fuel and air to run, I believe your Tach is signaled from your Alternator. Have someone visually check that the Fuel Solenoid Pulls when the Ign Key is turned on and stays in that position while trying to start it.
P 7100 Pumps don't just take a Dump overnight- there are symptoms before it goes. They call it the million mile Pump for a reason.

What kind of primary filter unit (the one just inside the rear engine door) do you have?
