Rate your Camping World shop experiences

I see a lot of comments about the poor service from Camping World. I know we're probably all guilty of screaming about the bad service we get but many times don't mention the good service.

I would like for you to rate the service you have received from Camping World, both good and bad. Please vote ONLY if you have used their service department, not what you've heard from others.

I plan to try and get the results of this survey into the hands of Marcus Lemonis, the CEO of Camping World.

Right after I purchased my coach, the DW insisted we get a washer and dryer installed. Since we were in Vegas I contacted CW regarding the purchase and install. We visited the CW facility in Henderson, NV just south of Vegas. They discounted the Splendide Ariston model washer and dryer 10% since we wanted them to do the install. I was concerned about a hole being opened for the dryer discharge but that went well. That was 13 years ago and both units are working well and the install was done very well. I have visited that same store several times and have always found what I was looking for.

I will never buy a trailer or motor home from them. But supplies or accessories sometimes if I am near a store and the price is right!

Haven't been in one in years until a week ago. I needed a 50amp plug for a project and needed it soon.
Walked in the door some lady tried to sell me something, walked in place smelled like harbor freight (cheap Chinese plastic). Stuff everywhere mostly fluff stuff and a huge pet section. Finally found the electrical section no parts (waste of my time).
Store was a mess boxes here and there, employees standing around chatting with each other blocking the isle.
Remembered why I hadn't been in one for years.

Stopped doing business with CW many years ago......
Due to Really bad customer service and NOT at just One CW but several as we traveled the USA

Marcus Lemon is FULLY aware.........Sent him MANY E-mails which he responded to but nothing changed about the customer service culture
He doesn't really care about CW...has other profitable avenues

But Champion On JOE....

We had the baseplate installed on our 99 CRV at the Santa Clarita, CA shop. Had to go back for slight adjustment, no big deal, lived 8 miles from shop.

Slide topper replaced at Riverside, CA shop. We made an appointment a couple weeks in advance, showed up, pulled right into shop, left 2 hours later.

Sorry I can't be less positive, but what ya gonna do.

Glenn

Subject says "shop", but the poll and first post say "service" ... I've had positive shopping experiences, and negative service experience. I answered for "service" because I think that's what's really wanted based on the first post.

Yes, you're right. When I said "shop" I was referring to their service shops!

I would never buy a unit from our local CW. I was looking at a new class c Four Winds 1.5 years ago. DW and I went buy several times looking at it and was ready to get down to price. So we go through the unit one more time seen a few little things that needed fix then I wanted to see what roof it had. Climbed the ladder and before I stepped on the roof seen a hole about the size of a quarter. Told the salesman so he look at it and said they would fix. I said I wouldn't even consider it unless I knew for sure how it was going to be fixed. So he beat around the bush about this talking to two different employees and finally said it would have a permanent patch. I said it's new and should have new roof but they said now way they would do that. Now this was not a new hole I could tell by the dirt in the hole and the unit had been on there lot for a year. Now I ask if they were going to inspect the roof for water damage and they said it would be fine. I said there's no way I would buy that with the spring rains we had which was a lot causing flooding several times. Started walking out with him saying it would be guaranteed and the last thing I said the only guarantee was I would not buy anything ever from you! Feel sorry for the person who bought that and didn't see the patched roof and more than likely water damaged roof.

In 2006, I had them add a sat dome to my new Diplomat. Right there on the roof was a label in red ink....sat wire connection. After the install, I went on the roof to check the work. Label still there. They cut a new hole in the roof to do the install.

I worked all over L.A. County and would occasionally stop in the Valencia store, when I was bored. As time went on, that store started looking more like a pet store than an RV store. The entire front end of the store was all pet products.

A few months ago, I damaged my tow bar and needed a quick replacement. I called the store.....three times and kept getting put on hold. The fourth time, I asked the operator if someone could the phone. She told me they were really busy. I guess they didn't need my $1000.00. If I was a district manager, I would have fired her and a few others for that type of service.

The shop did good work on our MH, the service desk however was very slow and wait times for parts and scheduling was terrible.

I went to the Camping World in Lakewood, NJ, to purchase and have sway bars and a safe-T-plus installed. They ordered the parts and had them in less then a week. They called and asked if I could bring it in 2 days. I brought it and told them to call when it was ready. They told me I could wait, it would be ready in a couple hours. My daughter picked up my wife and I. We went for breakfast and returned after we ate. Looked around the store, and within a half hour, they were done. The service and install were great. They were also less expensive then I was quoted at other dealers. I am still pleased with them and shop there often.
