Re-paint Help

We have a 2005 Itasca that's in great shape other than some oxidized silver accent paint.
Doe anyone in the Socal, Orange Co. area know of a decent RV paint shop that doesn't charge two arms and a leg..?? thanks

You are probably talking $16k-$25k, depending on the body condition, number of colors, and how you handle any striping or decals. If that's "two arms & a leg", the answer is "no".

You can get the job done for substantially less in Mexico.

It depends. If you are only looking to have the silver accents redone, it should be a lot less.

Plus with only one leg left driving is not going to be a relaxing experience. You arms and leg though so give it a whirl.

Check with someone local that does wraps... they will be able to find a high quality silver wrap material that they can cover just your silver with and I would guess you will be out the door for less than $1500, I bet you would be very happy with the results... wrap material is so good now it is hard to tell from paint.

We had our entire back end, front and side caps painted this year. Many, many hours of sanding.

My advice is;

1. Learn to paint and do it yourself
2. Get an estimate on what it would cost to have the silver wrapped.
3. Have a professional painter work on your MH on the weekends. You might even be able to help. This is what I did. With this knowledge I've been able to repair/ paint/ clear coat a couple of spots on my MH.

After thinking about this... are you sure all the clear coat is gone on the silver. It is paint and not decals?

Rv Paint

When I was a member of Jojoba Hills Escapees park east of Temecula several people in the park had good results with Yanez Bros in Hemit, Ca. You might check with them. They can be located on google. Travato John

"some oxidized silver accent paint"...also I checked out the reviews of the paint shop in Los Algodones. Mostly bad reviews of the experience.

You may or may not like my suggestion. Get an estimate. Then take that money, drive to Mazatlan, enjoy your vacation and have my guy Alfonso do it.

I had all 4 side compartment doors refinished 3 colors and clear coat for $8000 pesos. $383 US Dolars at today’s exchange. Looks perfect. Perfect bleds into the stripes. Nice gloss, sanded and buffed.

I’m going to have him do the other side next. Plus I have some clear coat peeling on the rear cap. I figure little by little he’ll paint everything that needs it for under $2000 US. He did a fender and rear cap on my neighbors for $6,000 pesos. Looks as good as it ever did.

No way would I let anyone put vinyl stripes on my full body paint coach. That’s just a patch job that in 3-5 years will cost more to remove than it was to put on.

That is a bunch cheaper than a Dean Loucks (The Art Of Design) paint job. Not near as cool, but a fraction of the cost.
