That's a lot of ground to cover in 2 months. Bear in mind that driving in the mountains, especially if they're unfamiliar to you, makes it seem longer than it is.

One of the worst things you can do is put yourself under a lot of time pressure to get from A to B - that makes the vacation into more like work. Lay out your ideal itinerary, figure out the drive times between stops, add up the number of days at each stop as you work your way around. Build in a few downtime days; perhaps a shorter day's drive and an intermediate stop between major destination points. That way if you have a mechanical delay (or weather, illness or any of the 100 other things that happen), you can take it out of those stops rather than the stops at the places you really want to go to.
