Record sales takes lots of space
New sales in 2016 & 2017 approached almost one million units. Have you seen any new RV parks? https://www.cnbc.com/2018/06/09/7-ne...he-future.html

Yes, in our area at least 3 new ones and some old one have been re-modeled. Two fo the new parks are very large. I live South of Houston.
Also saw some new ones on I-10 going through to Louisiana.

There seems to be some effort at catchup on spaces--but new units are selling much faster than the parks can be built. Also, costs of new construction will most certainly demand higher rentals.

Biggest problem/obstacle in many areas (The east end of the Columbia Gorge be being one) is the "Nimby" attitude )Not In My Back Yard ....especially the Oregon side..

I think one of the reasons you see the NIMBY attitude is that many RV parks turn into trailer parks with trashy looking full time units. Seems like just about every park we visit has half the sites occupied by permanent residents.

While I agree with your post this is going to be entertaining......

I think that is very true. In Texas City there are no RV parks. I know a couple businesses that have asked "for permission" and were denied.
There are a couple that are grandfathered through annexation in the last few years.

I have been a traveling full-timer, meaning, outside of winter months, I normally don't stay more than a week at any one spot. I try to limit my driving to 150 miles between stops. I also am used to calling 2 nights before I leave to find my next place. This is no longer possible and it's been a frustrating year for me so much so, that I am heading back to Florida early. I won't have a problem finding a spot as most parks in Florida empty out around early April and don't fill up until after the holidays. I have also reserved my spot for 6 months which keeps it mine for the year.
I can tell you that if I wasn't so much against working, I would open my own park.

You have to remember that a large percentage of those new units sold are to folks that are already RV'ers trading up!

Wow! I never thought of that. I guess when they buy a new one, they destroy the old one so no one can use it.

Here's more good news to the park owners. Watch as rates now start to climb.

Rather than go back to Florida early look at what states start school earliest. Parks are packed from school out to school back in. Not so much the rest of the time.

No, but I thought we were only talking about new equipment sales.
