Remote awning

Would anyone have any suggestions as to a good remote controll awning that doesn't require any wiring to it besides power? While any awning may work, I like the suspended kind the best (not sure what they're really called, but the ones without any support arms below them) like this one linked below, but I dislike the fact is 110v and that you need to wire up a controll module inside.

The purpose would be a second awning on the side of the rv behind the existing awning. There is a 12v light on the wall near where the awning could go, so I could use that for power, and if its remote controllable, then i wouldn't need to run any wires through any walls or anything.
Looking for any good suggestions. Most awnings I see either say they need additional wiring for controlls, or dont say anything at all about installation.

Thanks for any input.

Nice idea, but that 12 volt awning light will not be of a sufficient wire size to power an awning. You'll need to run a dedicated line.

Do you have a refer under where you want the awning. You can sometimes fish a new wire through the back cabinet. Most of the awnings like you want, just connect at the sidewall of the coach with a plug. You could install a plug and fish the wires through cabinets on the inside.

Dometic electrical awnings are 12 volt.....mine works fine off a 14/16 gauge wire size, and is free standing....I added a remote controller to mine....really easy to do..

If you want to go really remote LCI (Lippert) offers their Solera line which has one that operates on an 18v battery. My awning arms broke and I ordered (never received - changed order) one of these to replace the manual awning arms that were discontinued. I ended up with their hard-wired arms because they were in stock and I needed to get the fix faster than they could get me the other arms.

They come in different widths and like I said you can get just the replacement arms too. (I adapted arms to a Dometic awning roll) I have to say it seemed like it would work pretty slick for my application. I ended up having to wire up to the front of the RV from/to the center of the RV so I could get power out and the switch back to the entrance door area where I wanted the controls to be.
