Removing ceiling can lights

I have 2 issues 1 I have tiny ants in one of my lamps in the bathroom in the ceiling and I also have one light receptical in my delivering room slid that 2 years ago had some moisture ? But now the can is hanging low on one side as if the spring gave up , so I'd like to remove both replace the one once I order a new one and the one with tiny ants is like remove and spray the heck in that changed pocket with any spray and be done with them .. I found the dang things last fall climbing up my water hose so I now urgently spray each of the Bigfoot legs and the hose each time I flush the back tank . I know how to remove the lense and I've converted all of them from the tiny incidents to LEDs much better with the bright whites than the yellow incandescent things .. but the ceiling is not even masonite but looks to be 1/8" plywood with a pretty white vinyl glued to it I'm afraid to tear the ceiling as its kinda fragile feeling . How do you catch the springs to draw them in to pull the unit out once sprung in pace. As I may also pull other cans to spray in as many chambers as possible.. thanks Nate.

I use a credit card to get it started then a plastic upholstery tool to lift out the rest of the way. Or take the CC and use it to protect the ceiling why you use what ever is in the tool box that is handy.

Watch those springs, they are like getting finger in a mouse trap.
