To me, it depends on the following:
Date Code on the tires, Generally less than 6-7 years old.
Condition of the tires, No cracks in the tread or sidewall.
Brand of tires, no names or china bombs.
Just remember that RV tires don't wear out, they AGE out.

You may have to crawl around , because the date code isn't on both sides of the tire ; BUT ; it's very important to check every tire , you may have to borrow an inspection camera with a flex end to get to the inside of any dual wheels.

Unless you are unusual, you won’t put enough miles on your rig to wear out the tires before the rubber compound deteriorates to the point it is not safe. This deterioration is the result of time & elements. After 6-7 years, your tread may look great, but the tires need to be replaced.
Remember, tires are expensive, but they are way cheaper than the damage a blowout can create.

Whether buying or just starting out for the season, it's "better" to check the tire age and condition before travel. As others have explained, few RVers actually wear out the tire tread, but age and exposure to sun & weather can make it risky to rely on a tire. There is some leeway if you are comfortable with some risk or have a lean budget, but that's a personal choice.

I wouldn't buy a used tire for a RV.

You asked it it'd better. Yes new is always better.
I personally only use the tires on the used RV's I buy. I'd only replace if obviously damaged, dry rot, or over 8 years old.

I agree with Gary. It depends upon your willingness to accept the risk of damage to the MH, and to your family if you have a tire failure.
Owning a MH is the most expensive way of land travel/camping.

Same here. Why would somebody sell/trade in an RV tire unless it had a problem, or was worn out or aged out.

Nobody suggested buying used tires.
The OP asked, if buying used, would you keep the tires on the RV.

6-7 is the tire shop recommendation, tires that have been properly cared for, haven't seen flats or too much direct sun, should be able to get 10 years
I'll be buying a set of 2021 dates for a song and a steal here soon, spending more on balancing rings and TPMS, and I fully expect to run em until 2030 or until I sell or trade...

The tires on the trailer we just bought has a mix of date codes.
The spare looks brand new but it is a bias ply with the date of 2007!
The other tires (radials) range from 2017 up.

That spare is useless.
