Replaceing carpet for wood or laminate.

Should I use a sound deadening material or, foam pad like used in home floor coverings as an underlayment for noise abatement?

Thank you.

A very good question ... and you know I can't remember if that was discussed in this thread about flooring change over.

Well I thought I had a link ,, but can't find it

Please do a forum search for the thread " Hardwood Everywhere"
If I find the link soon I'll post it .

Found it and back in time to add it here.

If you do use the search , you'll find every post here in the forums about wood floors in motor homes.

We removed original carpet and added laminate flooring, we just used the foam underlayment recomended by the mfgr. Original plywood floor and factory moisture barrier was left alone. Big inprovement!! Much easier to clean and coach smells clean.
