Replacing Toilet.

I bought a Dometic 300 toilet for my RV. Having trouble trying to install it. The hole on the right side of toilet is impossible to see when trying to attach it to the socket floor flange. It is blocked by the foot pedal. Does anybody have any suggestions..

I didn’t have any problem but the working areas are TIGHT in some of the RVs. Can you prop up the pedal or have a helper keep the drain opened while you’re working?

Is the problem just that you're working blind? I watched the video below and can see that it would sure be frustrating but not impossible. Maybe a strategically placed mirror would help. I keep a couple in my shop for working on tough-to-see spots on my stuff.

I replaced my Model 300 with a Model 310 back in May, had no real difficulties with the mounting bolts. Yes, it took some wiggle to find the holes in the base. Once you have it properly seated, then a open end or box wrench of the right size is the best tool to use for tightening the bolts. Having replaced several household toilets, I thought this was actually quite a bit easier. Don't know know to suggest, other than patience.

Good luck!

Thumbs up toilet procedure

Take the pedal off; reinstall after clamping toilet in place

I had to position a mirror and flashlight to start the toilet flange over the stud bolt in our fifth wheel.
Good luck.
