Researching RVs for retirement
We currently have a Class B that we love. We have fun getting into the smaller spaces and traveling without a lot of the large RV travel issues (towing, fueling etc.). Of course we are very space and storage restricted verses a larger rig set up.
So, thinking ahead two or three years, when we fully retired and have visited the nooks and crannies of our continent with our B, we have been discussing our potential next step. We've been researching Class As and Fifth Wheels and even slightly larger RVs than ours, Sprinter based Class Cs (or B+, if you will).
Every rig set up has so many pluses and minuses it's hard to pick which will be best for us. I envision us full timing but settling down in one spot more and traveling around less. All this preamble to ask a question that I've wondered about. Do any of you own a Fifth Wheel but do not pull it? I was wondering if there are folks that snowbird in AZ or FL that rent a spot in a RV resort and have a Fifth Wheel towed from storage in the area and set up at a park for the season. And conversely removed at the end of the season and stored (properly) for the summer months. I figured it would be nice to keep our van to travel to and from and not have to have a tow vehicle for a Fiver but still own a Fiver to live in for the winter.
Is this a thing or am I dreaming?
