A couple of suggestions. Before you write the credit card company you must make an effort to settle the issue with the dealer. I would to this in writing. When you write your credit card company talk about an 'unreasonable delay". Although the dealership said two weeks you must allow for "reasonable" delays. I think that two months is an unreasonable amount of time to wait for something to be delivered. The last thing is you have 60 days from the date of the statement where the charge appears to contest the charge. If the dealership pushes back and the credit card company disallows the chargeback get your documentation in order and appeal the decision. Good luck

After two months of waiting I called to say I was coming to pick up my RV and to cancel the awnings since they still have not come in. When I got my bill they charged me a large restocking fee for the awnings. I asked about it and they said I cancelled so therefore the fee. I never got the awnings, nor did the RV shop ever receive the awnings from the company they ordered them from. I have reached out to them several times via email asking about a refund for this fee and have never had a response. Is this a legitimate fee? Actually they even charged me tax on the restocking fee.
. Thank you for the reply’s. I filed my complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

It sucks but sometimes you need to speak loadly and be a pain in there rear at time of check out. If they did nothing to rig I would have paid them nothing. Make them call the police and come after you. Dealers like that assume most of us are timid and will just pay. Stand up for your rights or you will be walked on. Safe travels

Enjoy the journey

This is the correct answer. The dealership had a contract with you (verbal, but doesn't matter). They are in breach. The reason they are in breach doesn't matter.

You never said if you paid when they ordered, paid when you picked up the coach, or never paid.

Immediately file a dispute with your CC company. Reason for dispute is you never received what you ordered. No other reason necessary. If beyond 60 days from your CC statement date, you may be SOL with the CC company, but not always (personal experience speaking here). By all means post the name of the shop here. Keep everything factual, document everything if not already done, who you spoke to, when, what was discussed. I use a spreadsheet. Provide all your documentation to the dealership. Ask them to resolve the issue. BBB is a start, but since there money comes from the dealership and not you, the customer, you probably won't get any satisfaction from them. The BBB has the best ratings money can buy! Ask me how I know.
State office of the Attorney General is a WONDERFUL resource. Businesses just HATE to get letters from the AG's office! Once again, ask me how I know! Does the newspaper where the dealership is physically located have a complaints, or consumer protection column? Kind of like Ann Landers for consumer protection. If so, WRITE THEM! KEEP IT FACTUAL! Ask someone else to read it before you submit it, try and take emotion out of it. List name of dealership, name of service manager, etc BY NAME!

Good luck, and please let us know how it all turns out. . .

He made an effort and they declined.....period end of story.

You will be in the driver's seat once your CC company puts a hold on the payment....which BTW will include all the other items you paid for.

It's like a lawsuit.....the first one to the courthouse always has the leverage. If you get a hold put on the payment you will immediately be in the driver's seat. The dealer in question has proven by their actions that they have not taken your issue seriously.....take control

Order and install things yourself. It's not rocket science to do these things.

You state Consumer Protection Agency has more clout than the BBB.

You can send them a copy of the agreement, and will decide if any part of the agreement has been breached.

The BBB may contact them, but they basically just document the complaints.

Looks like to me, the supplier or shop did not meet the delivery dates and therefore should not penalize the buyer for their problems. I would go back to the credit card company for assistance on the issue.

I dont think that's right. You had the work ordered along with the parts, bases on a good faith estimate when the parts and work would be completed. You were fair and understanding about the delay but after they grossly over ran the schedule. You cancled the order.

If time and the schedule was not important, you would not have asked up front how long it would be.

They should not have set that expection.
