Rhino roof treatment on a rubber roof

I just bought a used RV that has a rubber roof that is 16 years old. It does not leak but, should require some preventative maintenance.
Has anyone used the Rhino ECO - Coat system on their RV.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Congrats on the new rig! Sorry I can't answer your roof question. Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Beside Rhino there is a Line-X roof product and RV FlexArmor as a couple other brands. Most applicators will give a lengthy warranty on the work they do (20 years). Perhaps 10-20% less cost than a traditional roof replacement. The important part is getting an applicator who is familiar with doing RV roofs. The product is not the same as bedliners. If you plan to keep your RV for a long time then it would be well worth doing. I believe it is Rhino that has a silvery finish to the roof so it reflects the sunlight better and keeps the inside cooler in the summer. They color match the edges to blend in with the colors on the side of the RV so the roof color is not seen from street level. If I were to replace my roof I would certainly look into using it. Most of the experienced applicators are in Florida and Southern California. There is one RV manufacturer that offers Rhino as an option on new MH's but I can't recall who it is. I believe the manufacturer is located in Kansas.

Brushycreek, Welcome to the forum. Peterson Ind. who made Excel trailers tried to be innovative and use Rhino Liner Eco roof. I think it is safe to say it was disastrous. It may not be the main reason they went out of business, but sure helped.

I've got one on my 5th wheel and am trying to keep it (and wanted it) but, it's hard at times to justify it. The material delaminates from the plywood and lets water in. And their 5yr warranty that we were told we had is for truck beds only!

I think you would have better results with the other two spray on roofs that were listed.

We used RvRoof.com for our motorhome. Not cheap but guaranteed for the life of the RV, even if the motorhome is sold to someone else.

Happy Motoring

Our hail damaged roof was repaired then covered with a rubber type coating from a company named Vortex. It has held up well for 7 years now. I clean it thoroughly twice a year with soap and water and little scrubbing. Still looks new. It was applied by Iron Horse RV in San Antonio, TX.
