Ford Flex was the first vehicle that came to my mind. Butt ugly vehicle, but do you want to carry people comfortably, or do you wish to make a fashion statement on four wheels.

Form follows function, I say.

WThomas1 gets the subscription. I've read a few threads on Honda odysseys in the past and they were really negative. I did a google search on this and found this 8 page thread with pretty much everything you need to know about towing a Honda Odyssey.

I use a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4x4.....Absolutely love it. But GVRW is 6700lbs a little over what you were looking for. But I love the versatility I have with a truck and can still carry people and gear comfortably. Their options for price, in my opinion, exceeds the competitors as well. Hook up time to coach is less than 3 min. to include, tow bar, brake lights, safety cables, air brake system.

Only has seating for five, but a small child can ride in the back offroad. It's ready to tow and will turn heads.

My vote is for a Ford Flex, FWD is just under 4500 lbs, not to bad of a car, just had one as a rental.

Six People Comfortably? 1985 Chevy Silverado Suburban with a manual transmission and v8 350 small block, the half ton model can easily carry six people comfortably with plenty of engine to get it moving, plus have room for stowing stuff in the rear. Its on the upper end of the weight range, though, right around 5000lbs (I've scaled it, we use it for towing). Back Seats fold down, giving you a full 8' bed space in size if you need to haul something like plywood or other large objects, or are sight seeing in a drive thru park and the kids all want to be able to sit by the windows.

We had/still have one that my family used from when we were kids to travel cross country, the only difference is we had the automatic transmission vs the manual. Parts are still available the drive trains in these old girls were simplistic as they come.

Our family was 1 kid less the same size. Bench seats, fit six. Did I mention 6' tall is an average height amongst my family?

Get one with the twin rear doors vs the tailgate, the old rear power windows were problematic.

Also, because of the age of the vehicle and its seat belt design, its exempt to alot of newer seat belt laws.

Well... I actually will be selling the honda odyssey. Figure if I'm going to be traveling I need something more utilitarian. So am going with the last real Toyota Landcruiser year. 1997 Lexus with the K294 axle code which means it has lockers. Not much testing has been done with this AWD vehicle, but I have a friend who has a Cruiser as a toad and has gone 10,000 miles in it. Put the Tranny in park and the transfer in Neutral and you are good to go. However Toyota and the towbar companies recommend against it. I will test it out as well as 10k will be put on my rig in the next year.

Those are a little too small and really not that capable off road. We looked into that option.

I purchased the Toad today. 1997 Toyota Landcruiser (lexus badging.. blehhhhh ). 181,000 miles on the ticker.

I've had over 40 Landcruisers and this is my 6th in this body style so I know pretty much everything about them. This one comes with the k294 axle code which means it has Lockers.

Less than an hour after buying it I ordered up the front axle rebuild kit and will repack the knuckles and put new wheel bearings in all around. Other than that its in really really nice shape. PO really babied it.
