Welcome to the forum. Well you are not going to find a consensus option about that. The two most popular services seem to be Coachnet and FMCA SafeRide. But there are other options. Search the forum and you will find a lot of opinions on the subject.

Welcome to the forum. We use FMCA.

You are joining a good group of folks with good information to share. Read the various threads here and ask questions as they come up or add information if you can.

Good luck and enjoy the adventure!

CoachNet has the best reputation and the highest price. FMCA, offers SafeRide which has good reviews. $159 for a DP. Escapees also has SafeRide for $99. Lots of negative reviews about Good Sam but i have no personal knowledge. Also AAA offers RA as part of their insurance but don’t know if it works on a large RV.

Welcome to the show!

My roadside assistance is through my insurance company. Haven't had to use it yet, however yours may offer it as well.

You need to define what you consider to be the best. The cheapest will be from your RV insurance company but most of those also have a limit in either distance or cost on how far the vehicle can be towed. My best experience was with Coach Net, which costs the most but they have no limit on towing, other than to the nearest repair facility. I did have to use it for towing a motorhome once and service was excellent.

Had Good Sam for years but this summer they were offering it for something like $69 for new people, asked them what they could do for me, said sorry. You have to pay the Full $219 price. So I said good bye and switched to Coachnet, Even though it was more that the $219. It just galled me.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

I don't think there's really much difference in the big three, Good Sam, CoachNet, and FMCA. I would rather give my money to FMCA!

I would suggest that you create a signature showing the make and model of your RV. It will help folks to answer questions you may have in the future. Look at post #30 in the link below that tells you how to do that.

https://www.irv2.com/forums/f62/foru...ml#post3101035

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Coachnet left us stranded last year at a provincial park for 3 days because they couldn’t find a tow truck. Someone with BCAA finally called them for us out of sympathy - BCAA arrived within an hour. I called to coachnet to complain amd have the incident investigated- I was assured they would look into the lapse of service. I called back this week twice, my phone calls were not returned. I finally got a hold of a manager today- and they said they did all they could- no amends made. Thanks coachnet for leaving me and my 4 kids locked out of our car for 3 days- and not coming to our rescue. Thank God BCAA services provincial parks! I will not be renewing.

You were locked out of your car for 3 days and didn't bother to simply call a local locksmith?

Not sure why you would want a tow truck for a simple lock out.

Also, my understanding is that they will call towing services and offer them a set amount to handle the call. If it's too low, and nobody accepts their offer, they assistance company will tell you that there is no one around to assist.

AAA does the same thing and it varies by state.

There are some youtube videos out there that show how folks have had to deal with their issues on their own and then bill back, or attempt to, the assistance companies for the money they had to spend.

Just because you have one, doesn't mean that you'll have absolute piece of mind. Be prepared and have the know how to handle your own rescues, just in case you have to.

Good luck!

I think its like cell phone service - all the major providers have weak locations or situations, where the other guy does better. Or maybe nobody has good service then & there. They all operate by offering a local service a discounted price to take your call. Where there are plenty of locals and calls aren't too heavy, they have good service. In remote areas or when the locals are overwhelmed with service requests, you might end up stuck for hours or days. I've had both good and terrible response from everyone of them. In my opinion, it all depends on when & where you need help.

I'm inclined to think you may as well buy the one that has the best deal at the time (assuming all the majors are offering unlimited tow to the nearest "qualified" shop). For awhile I was switching services every renewal, to get the "new customer" price break each time. I'd buy multiple years at the newcomer discount if allowed.
