Roadside Assistance ?????? Which One?????

I know there are many threads probably devoted to this but I would just like an experience(d) comparison as to roadside assistance programs offered.

Our Good Sam Club Platinum contract is coming due soon and I started shopping. We have used it once during the 3 years of membership. The one time we used it was ok - Good Sam immediately wanted to tow my rig but I said no, send a mechanic and he can fix it on the spot - which he did.........

So here is my quandary:

I can renew my Good Sam Platinum contract for $139 per year.

or

I can take the FMCA Roadside at $109 per year. Which is really Safe Ride Motor Club, part of VAS network.

or

I can take Coach Net Premiere at $249 per year.

or

I can take the Good Sam Standard at $70 per year (?) Not sure if this is a renew price or the come on for the first year. Looking at this plan - it is probably the only thing I really need - but - I am always open........

AAA is out - the wife has them for her car and - - - we've been out in the middle of the night - - in the middle of nowhere - - and we got absolutely nowhere help from AAA..........other than excuses. Shameful............

So - - Coach Net gets really good reviews, Good Sam reviews seems to be on who you talk to. I can't find any reviews in regards to the FMCA program.

I was about to change to Coach Net and the cost stopped me initially as I thought I would ask my iRV2 family their thoughts on the difference in price points.

Comparing, GS Platinum, FMCA, and Coach Net Premiere all seems to be fairly the same product with some simple differences. Tow distance, amount of Trip Interruption coverage and days covered.

Now - please keep in mind, cost is really not a factor - I own a motor home - - I can waste money with the best of them, I just dislike feeling fleeced.......

Thanks in advice for your help and time.......it is appreciated.

If cost is not a factor I would probably go with CoachNet. For most of us, cost is a factor. I waited until my Good Sam Roadside Assistance was about to expire in 10 days, then called them and said I wanted to cancel and change to CoachNet. That got their attention and got a 3 1/2 year renewal for $190, which is about $54 per year!

We have been using GS since 2000, and have only had a couple of less than satisfactory situations. I think that could happen with any of them. JMHO

I've had Coach Net for several years. I think I last paid @ $300 for a 3 year policy. After having it for a year, I called and cancelled my AAA as CN also covered our cars. My wife has used CN for a dead battery and a lockout in her car and they responded fast and efficiently, even at midnight. I have not used it for the coach as I've never been disabled but have several friends who have used their services and were very pleased. Since landing at CN, I have never looked into the other providers you mention so cannot comment about those. I have talked to friends who have FMCA and GS, have used their services, and were satisfied with the treatment they received. I will continue to use CN but would look around if their prices have doubled since I last subscribed.

I haven't ever had anything but CoachNet, the big price increase this year got my attention. But, in the end I renewed for 3 more years.

Even though Coach Net costs more, I feel it is worth it. There roadside assistance it top of the line. I have used them 3 times in 7 years and they always had a mechanic out to me in quick time. Their online techs know what they're doing and help out a lot.
If it's peace of mind you want the get Coach Net.

The Coachnet price of $249 is for the first year only and will revert to $149 thereafter. You can also get a $10 discount if you call them direct.

I too posed this question a month or so back and again multiple answers with multiple options. In the end both of our vehicles are covered by ""new vehicle" roadside assistance and our insurance carrier (progressive) also has free road side assistance (including towing, flat repair, mechanic services, jump starts as some examples). So we are going to go with this and see how it works out. Why pay for something you already have???? I may be proven wrong but we will see

I wonder if tow truck operators are more likely to respond to call from a known entity like Coachnet, AAA, etc than to person they have no business experience with?

I may be wrong but I would guess that the "new vehicle" roadside assistance is probably fulfilled by CN or similar company and paid for by the vehicle manufacture. Selling lots of coaches, they probably get a much better price.

I'll have to look and see when mine expires, but, as mentioned above, if they've gone up to $149 year for renewals, I'll still go with CN without checking the others. I don't like surprises when I'm backed against a wall and I'm confident CN will not surprise me. YMMV

I got Good Sam RA back in late April. Used them for a 65 mile tow about 2 weeks ago. They were great. About 2 hours from initial call until tow arrived. Checked on me a couple of times while waiting. Tow driver said "already been paid, have a nice day!"

I got to use my Good Sam Roadside Assistance for the second time. I had valve extenders put on my inner rear tires and one of them was defective. When I got to my campsite I had 0 pressure in the tire. We fixed part of the problem but couldn't fix it all. The next morning I called GSRA at 9:00 am and they were very helpful. By 10:10 am they had a tech to me that fixed me up.
