Romantic Texas RV Parks -Tips

Just wondering if anyone would like to share some of their favorite rv parks for a romantic weekend?

Maybe some nice amenities, out in nature and not back to back rv sites ?

Or rv tips you use for a relaxing weekend ? Or maybe some romantic things youve done to make your rv relaxing ?

Thanks all !

Hmmm. Never thought of RV parks being romantic. We have found many dry camping or boondocking spots that have relaxed and calmed us just by being in the beautiful awesome quietness of nature. We'd never find that in a RV park. Good luck!

I have not tried it, but there is a fairly nice looking RV park in Fredericksburg within walking distance of the downtown tourist area.

There are also lots of nice state parks depending on your needs

Beachside at Galveston might be a nice setting for a romantic weekend. A tablecloth, nice lighting, good food and the right person could transform a lowly picnic table.

Here is a place that DW & I have been talking about visiting. Since it is connected to a winery, we're thinking it might be a decent place to go for a weekend of doing absolutely nothing but sitting out side & drinking some wine, etc.

.... but look at how packed in those sites are!! You'd sit outside with your fine wine and look at someone's sewer hose? Get out in the boonies where all you'll see are stars. Now THAT'S romantic!

From their previous post, one must suspect twogypsies are boondockers; maybe they will share their favorite boondocking sites. Even if they do, those sites would not suit some and not others. The sites that hit the right note for them probably would not do us for us. My spouse values 50 amp service and dislikes generators; boondocking would not set a romantic mood for us. A winery, on the other hand, would appeal. Stars and a walk on the beach would also work. Different places for different people.

Yes, we boondock and we don't share the romantic spots because we don't want anyone around us! Yes, it's extremely quiet because we use solar, not a generator.

We also dry camp in forest service campgrounds and some of those can be romantic when your site is at the edge of a stream or quiet lake.

If wineries are your thing, have you heard of Harvest Hosts? Many wineries open their grounds for dry camping at the vineyards. Many times you could be the only ones there. How closer can you be to a vineyard and wine?

Read all about Harvest Hosts and this couple's experiences:

Thanks, very helpful! We love the larger sites and often if we can swing it, go on a Thursday night to at least, beat the crowd for one night.

We are 50 amp as well.

Will check out the link.

I've also been known to do a 'theme weekend,' like Italian.

Yes the less busy the campground, the more we like !

We spent 12 days at the Gulf Waters RV Resort, Port Aransas, Texas this year. Most of the lots are surrounded on three sides by Palm trees, Oleander bushes, etc. We were about a five minute walk from the beach. The RV park is well maintained and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Sitting on the beach with a cup of coffee in the morning watching the sun come up, sitting on the beach in the evening with a glass of wine watching the sun go down. Worked for me

Canyon of the Eagles resort in Burnett fits your description. It has 19 RV spots with plenty of space, a nice sit down restaurant, small bar, and miles of hiking trails. They also have a large patio area with a fireplace and have live music or outdoor movies on the weekends.
