Roof coating from Lowe’s?

I want to coat my roof tomorrow as it’s the only day off I’ll have for the next two months. Does Lowe’s sell a coating compatible with my 2011 flagstaff rubber roof?Click image for larger version

What is anyone's experience with this stuff?

I am waiting on State Farm to total my travel trailer. I am wary of buying it back because of possible hidden roof issues, but if I could repair a roof leak easily with something like this, I might consider.

I have been a project engineer on a project where we coated a couple of silos with a product, probably very similar to this. To my knowledge, it held up well, but we were talking a steel silo roof with a lot of prep before we could put down the coating. Seems like cleaning a rubber roof would be more difficult than a steel silo.

You will read everywhere that it is not compatible with EPDM roofs. Don't believe it. I used Henry's 100% silicone and had great results. 3 years now with no issues.

Hi there is an acrylic product that they sell i believe it required two coats. Also regarding silicone coatings just be careful once you apply a silicone coating you are stuck with adding more silicone to it. Nothing will stick to silicone except more silicone. Take care

It's hard to do in one day. First you need too scrub it real good ( I used TSP ) and rinse and let dry overnight. Then patch anything that looks like it might leak before applying the Henry's. I did a second coat the next day and a year later it looks great. I scrubbed it real good a couple of weeks ago and took before and after pics. Ken........

I’m parked at Home Depot right now and searching the forum I found a post from toy saying that you applied Henry Tropicool to an rv. I’m still deciding if I should get Henry or go to the rv supply store and get Hengs, as I’m seeing lot of pros using it.

Can you tell me how Henry it’s holding 4 years later?

Did mine with Henty's Tropicool last year.

Nice stuff but super slippery when wet. As slick as gelcoat. Best to wear a good pair of boat shoes when going up to clean the roof of highway grime.

Tropicool

When I did mine I bought the big pail (was 4.5 gal) and did two coats on consecutive days. I still had almost a gallon left which by now has probably hardened up by now.

Henry's engineers told me that their products are fine for RV roofs (fiberglass, metal, EDPM). Three coats are needed for best coverage. You can apply the cheapest of their acrylic elastomerics (287 Solar-Flex) as the first two coats. Then apply a better quality for the last coat and subsequent maintenance coats (587 Dura-Brite or 687 Enviro-White). The 887 Tropi-Cool is silicone. You can apply it over any of the acrylic elastomerics but you can only apply silicone over silicone. I have a three coat base of Solar-Flex (it was the only one they had in stock and I had to buy 2 4.75 buckets of the stuff so I just rolled it all out) and recoated with one coat of Dura-Brite (1 gallon) at 6 years while my Solar-Flex was still good. I will recoat the Dura-Brite before I hit the 10yr time on it (I got 3 more years). No leaks (steel roof with rivets - all seams were sealed with a tube of elastomeric before rolling the first coat of Solar-Flex). Much quieter in hail or rain storms. MUCH cooler in the sun.

I've used the 287 on a previous 5er and 587 on this one. Both gave excellent results. The previous 5er with the 287 was in Az. uncovered for another 5 yrs. and it still looked like I just did it. I can tell the 587 is more reflective and stays cooler.
For prep, I pressure washed and then hand scrubbed with scotch brite and tsp. No primer necessary with a good prep. DN
