RUDE DUDE!!!! in St Augustine !!

Yesterday, as we were leaving Indian Forest Campground in St. Augustine, we could not get out as a guy was washing his truck with the fiver hooked to it. We were the second in line as this fellow washed his truck. He had the way out of the campground blocked as he washed. He did hold up hand with five fingers, I guess meaning five more minutes. I should have told him he number 1 !!!!. By the time he finished several more were waiting to leave. I had about 400 miles and wanted to get there before dark and the office closed. I made the before the office closed but not the dark part.

How very rude! Some people are just selfish & have no thought about how their actions impact others. Where was the campground manager while all this was going on?

Who Knows, They may have told time to use the non drinkable water that we was using. He did have a new black Chevy truck. I guess he wanted to keep it clean. A couple hours later we were in rain and all the way to Myrtle Beach.

I think that I am turning into my Grandmother. She was always saying how people had no respect anymore and how different life was compared to when she was growing up. I'm finding myself thinking the same thing.

But I am also finding that I have little tolerance to this kind of thing anymore. I would have gotten out of my rig, gone up to him and ask him- politely- to move long enough to let us by. If he said no, I'd then go to the manager and if they didn't move him, I would tell them that I am calling the cops. Every single place I've ever been to has a fire ordinance. You MUST keep a clear fire lane.

It's like in the movie theater when people are talking on the phone or texting. I lean right over and say, very clearly and in a normal voice, "would you please take that outside?" It never fails. They jump and snap the cell phone closed. I then say "thank you" and smile politely. My former husband gets a real charge out of it and I've had, on a number of occassions, people around the individual, say 'thank you'.

I am just tired of the rudeness and have no problem, now days, shaming people into acting with consideration to others.

You are not alone in that. Just seems anymore People are kind of in their own worlds sometimes and don't think about the rest of "us". But you find it the other way too! I don't know how many times I have held doors open for people and they dawdle and take their time and cause me to wait, but just the same I don't know how many times I've held doors for people and had them say "You first"! Looking at the world sometimes, it's just your day, and your perspective. Rude might be a slow moving driver. Rude might be the vehicle approaching fast behind you as you try to get your daughters birthday cake to the party safely. Rude might be being detained in hot weather waiting for some guy to turn his sign at a construction site so you can finally get on your way, rude might be being yelled at honked at or belittled when it's 110 degrees your trying to get cars through as fast a possible and yet have to let your men do thier job, Rude might be irate customers in-line at the store yelling you need more checkers, or a frantic cashier trying to get people through fast as possible with no help getting yelled at by customers, it's just your day, and it's just YOUR perspective. BTW in this case, I think the guy blocking DiandTom was rude.

I don't know, but I think the campground has a serious problem with placing a washing spot or allowing a RV to be washed when the act would block the entrance to the campground. Like was mentioned earlier, what if there were some ckind of emergency and there was no fire lane for emergency vehicles to pass?

He could have washed this truck , fiver at his spot. You can wash you rv's there. They also have several Not drinkable water at other locations, that would not block anyone.

Tom, I unerstand your frustration completely. Have been lined up at the RV fuel pumps at the Flying J, Carnesville on I-85 and have actually have people fuel and then go inside and stay for several minutes, either having a meal or a snack. Now these guys walked off with us sitting behind them in line - knowing we were back there. There was room for at least one rig in front of where they were fueling and plenty of room in the RV parking area. The only possible reason I can see for them doing this is they might have thought someone would accuse them of driving off w/o paying.
Your guy blocking the driveway is just the pits - pure self indulgent RUDE. Karma will get him some place down the road. Just smile and know you did the right thing by not getting into a big brouhaha with him.
See you guys in April

If you only knew why the washing was desparate.

Under Walmarts Parking post #201, I posted about stupid people and was warned that I was a tad insensitive. Looks like my observations were correct. I too would have laid into the air horns until the jerk got the picture. (unlikely)

I was waiting in line at the pumps at the Loves in Quartzsite while a young man in a van finished fueling. When he finished, the doors all opened and 3 or 4 guys climbed out. They ALL, including the driver, went into the store. About 5 or more minutes later they all walked out with their arms full of food. They got back in the van and then took another 2 or 3 minutes to finally pull away from the pumps. In the mean time, I am blocking the entrance and can't move forward or back. People looked at me like I was the problem. I wonder when people started believing that they are the only one living on this planet?
