Billings KOA last September as we were leaving some poor soul had turned right at the campground exit and the passenger side front wheel literally snapped off. King pin, spindle, axel ? Who knows ? I spent the next couple of days uncomfortably thinking about, chills the whole bit.

I've only ever seen one. Late 90s, about an hour south of Mackinaw, Michigan. A pop-up being pulled by a Jeep (Wrangler-style). Jeep was on it's side, with the pop-up frame still attached and upright. The house part of the pop-up had completely separated from it's frame and was laying in the ditch a little ways back from the Jeep. No clue what actually happened. LEO was on the scene when we passed, and the couple (presumably driver and passenger of the Jeep) looked basically okay. There weren't any other cars there, so don't know if there was anyone else involved.

Saw the aftermath of a nice DP pulling a Jeep that went into the median. It was south of Chattanooga on !-59, the coach was tore up on the street side but it looked like the folks were okay as they were loading stuff from the coach into the Jeep.

Returning north on I-35 in northern Texas just before the Oklahoma border last April, an accident had them divert all traffic onto the frontage road, which of course, was jammed. We were stopped next to the scene for a while, so I took a couple pics. As you can see, the Super-C cab was totally burned. While sitting there, the tow truck lifted the front of the rv up, then I saw the flatbed drag a small 100% burned up car out from under it!
My wife found a news story about it a couple days later.
It turned out that the car driver was on the frontage road, lost control and ended up down on the freeway, bounced off the concrete divider and got in the way of the Super-C. The car driver died.

I've posted this before: No injuries, coach was jammed up but held together - still have the Jeep.

About a year ago, a semi-truck attempted to pass us on a two-lane highway in heavy traffic. He (or she) forced us off the road and we flipped. Motorhome and towd both totaled. Minor injuries.

I can give more details if it will help the cause.

Saw an RV yard sale along a highway somewhere on the east coast, can't remember exactly where but might have been on Rt 13 on Virginia's Eastern Shore. Fortunately in the opposite lanes, traffic backed for miles. Hopefully no one hurt, but from the looks of things and the emergency vehicles present, not so sure.

I've seen a couple of accidents, in our first year of rving.

What is more prevalent to me are tire blowouts on TTs and Fivers. Probably seen at least a dozen of those.

I encountered a couple and was able to watch them before the accident and slow down. Both involved vehicles not set up properly, no sway control or weight distribution hitch along with poor driving. When vehicle passes you and trailer swaying back and forth all over the lane you know what is coming next.

saw a truck/5er climb up the back and stop on the top of a car that passed us both and then stopped in front of him for some reason. This was outside Lincoln city, Or.

I’ve seen three. Two first hand as they happened, beginning to end in an oncoming lane. I had to stop to avoid parts and vehicles crossing into my lane. One was a Ford F-150 towing a medium sized double axle travel trailer in a 40 mph crosswind gusting significantly higher on occasion. Trailer rolled at least six times disintegrating in the process and taking the F150 with it for the first roll. Truck ended up on its wheels in the ditch on my side of the road. No one hurt. Didn’t look drivable. Trailer chassis and mangled walls ended up at least 70+ yards up a hillside.
The second was a class A on I-15 north of Dutton Montana. Again high crosswinds and this fool looked to be doing 70-80 mph. Actually passing a car as I saw him get on only one set of wheels down and eased right on over. Popped part of the top open and stuff strung out onto the road and median for around forty yards.
Third one I only saw the vehicle jerked into a ditch with travel trailer on its side. Again a very windy day.

Jack-knifed 5er

Before purchasing one I saw a jack-knifed 5th wheel in northern Indiana. Did not look like anyone was hurt. Changed my mind toward a class A. Turned out good for our purposes.
