Need Batteries for stored 5th wheel 24 ft.

Do I want the Group size 24 DC rather than the 24 M (marine) ?

Batteries dont run any starter motor

Go with the DC, that means Deep Cycle.

Size measurement vary from brand to brand

I'll go by wal mart and see if they have the everstart with the removable caps

$78 or $84 bucks each . Mine had two batteries

27dc or a 24dc. The interstate batteries on a web site have the 27 and 24 sizes different, reversed

Gotta figure out what group size is gonna fit

.

You may not have the room or want to do work to change but.....On my old popup then TT in 25 plus years , I went through so many true deep cycle 12v batts before changing to a pair of golf cart 6v . I probably got just over three times the life and not suffering the poor preformance pushing tired ones until end of season.

If you are storing the trailer why even buy batteries? I would put off buying batteries until they are actually needed.

Here is the battery size chart. A group 24 is always going to be the same size, just like a group 27, or 31 etc

The capacities and performance will change but the group refers to size

Ive seen the size chart , but if you look at everstart specs they show the group 24dc as 13.05" x 6.80x 9.69

whether that is a misprint or not, I will be measuring the actual battery before I purchase

I also see a misprint in that chart. And interstate battery chart has different measurement than your chart

And Im sure different brand batteries will have different measurement

Not if they are labeled correctly. Battery case sizes are formally standardized by the BCI (Battery Council International).

Marine AGM are excellent. Marine flooded cells compromise some.

So in flooded cell, get DC.

Choosing An RV Battery https://www.irv2.com/forums/download...do=file&id=231
This is a good article, but its recommendations against “Marine Batteries” does not apply to “Marine AGM batteries”.

Bought one bat, a group 27DC at walmart. Only size they had in Deep Cycle

My compartment fits two bats. Think I had 24s last time. 27 is a inch longer

I would get the largest battery that would fit the battery box. Or as what I did was buy a larger box. DC Group-24,or 27, or 29, or 31 group 31 has about 60% more amps for maybe 25$ more.

He only needs the "biggest that fits" if he expects to be without shore power for more than a day at a time. There is no value in a larger battery if you are near-always plugged in when camping.
