RV Care
Hello
Just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with RV Care by Nationwide.
I'm going to be buying my first RV this Friday, 3/22/19, and I would like to know if this is worth getting to help with RV problems, also what about the Tire Shield Road Hazard Coverage they try to sell you too.
Any info is much appreciated.
Thanks

New as in never been used by anyone? Or, previously owned and "new" to you?

I'm picking up my new RV on Friday too. It is my 4th RV, 2 trailers and 2 Class C's. The finance guy tried to push all that stuff on me too. If they were reasonable in the pricing it might be worth it to consider. They wanted $700+ annually for the tire coverage. I can buy a spare tire and roadside for fraction of that . The coach protection packages are not worth it. Buy a can of Scotchguard and wax your RV annually. Even if you have to pay someone to wax it you'll be money ahead. I have never considered an extended warranty either. The deck is stacked against you a lot. In the Motor Home magazine in their trouble shooter column every month is someone complaining about the extended warranty they bought. Put your money into a rainy day account. I bet you'll never use most of it.

DO NOT let me repeat DO NOT buy any insurance add ons from your dealer or "special RV treatments" (inside or out). Even if you needed them, and there is a 99% chance you do not need them, the dealer will over charge you for the service BIG TIME.
Put some money in a special account every month and use that for repairs as they come up.
Oh and welcome to the forum.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
Congrats on the new rig! I don't go for the extended warranties but some folks say they have paid off for them. I would take the same amount of money and put it into a special bank account to be used only for repairs. Have fun and keep her between the ditches!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

When we bought our fifth wheel, these things were offered as well.
They wanted $3800 for some special coating on the outside to protect it for a measly 2 year guarantee. Nope.
That's a lot of paid for hand waxing by a professional, and never ROI if you do it yourself.
It's like alarms and glass etching on new cars. Pass. Big time money makers for the dealers.

RV Care is no better or worse than any other repair insurance (aka "extended warranty". The bigger question is why you would buy one at all. Many buyers expect that the policy will pay for anything and everything that needs fixing but they are doomed to disappointment. Dealers make extravagant claims in order to sell expensive policies cause it's a big money-maker for them, but don't get snowed by sales babble.
Much has already been written here about extended warranties, so please use SEARCH to find and read prior posts.
If you still want one, shop around. The dealer offering is often over-priced vs what you can get from a broker such as Wholesale Warranties.
