RV Carport Tie Downs

About two months ago, I had my RV carport installed. I put the rails on cinder blocks to get a little extra height (which I probably didn’t need.) The installers did a good job, but as I was told when I purchased it, they drove about 3’ pieces of rebar through predrilled holes in the rails to secure it in windy conditions. I got to looking at it, and thought it looked like a big box kite standing up so high and on those blocks. I purchased some mobile home tie downs, but I’m here to tell you, screwing those babies into super hard ground by hand is no easy task, but I do feel a lot better about its chances to stay there, if the weather gets rough.

As you say, that big roof, up there like a big kite or sail. Tie downs are a great idea.
Tomorrow we get hit by Teddy and while we don't usually get the destruction seen in the south, we do get some damage. I spent today on prep work. Putting stuff away, moving the fiver to a better location, getting rid of scrap metal and burning brush. Yes I did hose it down well afterwards.
A lot of the trees on the property are older and I can expect to have some exercise for the chain saw afterwards.
