RV consignment, best place to use close to GA?

Hi all,
I've been on here a while absorbing info (thanks!) Looking for advice here now.
We full time and have for 2 yrs. We are in the process of buying another rig from a private seller. We need a place to use for consignment for our current rig. We had planned to use PPL in TX. But we ended up finding a great rig in GA. We are trying to avoid driving both to TX to leave the old one there at PPL. Especially since we have to be in Indiana for work (rv trade shows) in 3 weeks! Is there any place close to GA that anyone would recommend to consign a motorhome? Also, not sure if it really matters, but our rig is a bit different in that we made it into 4WD, all solar, and more. So it's not for the average buyer.
Any and all input welcomed!
TIA!
Kristin

Problem with consignment units is the sales people are going to push there inventory first since it’s costing the store in inventory.

Yes, that makes sense. One thing we like about PPL is that they Only sell consignments. They have no new units nor do they have thier own inventory. I'm hoping someone knows of a similar place closer to go than TX.

Do you tow a toad?
If do, dont drive both MHs there unless it works in your favor.
Complete the deal on new, transfer belongings and store it short term while you drive & tow to TX to drop off. Toad back to GA to pick up and continue on w travels.

We don't have a toad right now. We've contemplated doing basically what you said. Transferring all our stuff into the new rig. Taking our old rig to TX, and renting a vehicle to go back to GA to get the new one. Just really hoping anyone has info on a good place closer. We just don't have any place else to leave it while it's for sale, that's why we need to consign it.

This will probably get slammed by some but we used Camping World in Jacksonville and it went very good. Sold in about a month and we got exactly what we wanted.

Check your insurance policy first. Many policies have an exclusion and do not cover a unit on a consignment lot.

Curious how you figured out a sales price. Camping world told me NADA low retail, but seems too low to me.

I told them what I wanted and they said they could do that. Did not care what they sold it for.

We sold our 40' motorhome at PPL within a month for the price that WE put on it - which was a little higher than PPL suggested. We figured everyone likes to dicker price so we'd have to come down. The buyer thought our price was fare. The buyer flew in from Florida. It was a very good experience. PPL gets a LOT of traffic both dropping off units and those picking up bought units. We were amazed. If your RV is in good condition and very clean then it will sell. There's some junk on their lot and many that the owners didn't clean... even wastecans full. Those will be there a long time. As far as insurance.... you can get a very cheap rider to cover it. No problem.

There are probably very cheap air fares from TX back to GA. You could get it done fast.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. We found a friend who is going to let us keep it there for a few months while we advertise it ourselves. If it doesn't sell then we will take it to Ppl later. Thanks again!
