f&b - Body parts are not part of an ERS. The answer I posted for the body parts portion of my response pertained to the manufacturer warranty posting and also the downstream availability of parts when a manufacturer goes under.
However to expand the point, an ERS, for example, can cover electrical systems and there can be many RV manufacturer specific (i.e. propriety) components in the overall electrical system. Hence, if the manufacturer goes out so does (could) that supply of those parts leaving you the owner and the ERS up the creek.

Nick,
There are a lot of "what ifs" and "may bes" in our future and our lives would be so much easier if we knew all of the answers. Betty and I intend to enjoy our MH even if we must restrict our travels. The potential "cap and trade" legislation does concern me but not much more than the huge increase in the money supply as we crank up the presses.

RvDude,
We drove past the old Travel Surpreme operation early this month and it was completely void of any activity. I had heard that Jayco was going to build a hi-end motorhome there but decided not to.

Actually Jayco did build a high end Class A motorhome there, the Entegra Aspire and Anthem brands. The high end Emblem trailer (ne' Travel Supreme River Canyon) was also produced there.
However, as the economy worsened, Jayco decided to close that plant and move Entegra production to another Jayco facility in Middelbury, IN, that has excess capacity. Only a few Entegras were produced so far.
You won't find Entegra models on the Jayco web site - Entegra has its own branding and web site - see Entegra

Hey, we out here in Kalifornication are already feeling the pinch. Arnold just doubled my DMV fee from last year. It's now over $2000 ... cripe, it's wasn't that high when it was new! He even went one step further. It used to be you could file a non operation permit for $15. That fee is now $200. So once again, we're being screwed by our wonderful Kalifornia legislators!

If they ever put a tax on stupidity, they could fund the nations government from the senators and congressmen alone. Then the rest of us could stop paying so much....

GS Maintenance
We purchased our unit in April 2007. And due to the fact it was purchased from a private individual and we were about to take a trip with it. We purchased the maintenance program. The trip was great no problems but I have filed several claims since then. Never Never has there been an issue with getting them filed and completed. The Power Gear system has been replace all new Hydraulic system, Touch Pad, Control Box, this upgraded it from semi automatic to full automatic. The leveling cylinders were the only things that did not get replace. The Power Step also was replaced. The claims were filed and handled promptly and I just received my new renewal and no cost increase. I really expected it to go due to the age of our unit. And I'm sure that there are those out there that had the opposite experience.

If I'm not mistaken, King of the Road closed down a couple of years ago, not during the current economic crisis.

There was no attempt to restructure and National RV is gone forever. Monaco bought the intellectual property rights and so could use the brand names if they wished, but never did anything with them. And of course Monaco had their own bankruptcy about 18 months later.
