I can't get one line either and I've tried for an hour now.
I'll check back after lunch. No warning it would be off - but sometimes things happen without warning and they must close to repair any problem.

There was a warning early yesterday that they would be down for one hour - the hour came and went and then came the present notice which simply says were going down. The service was very slow over days preceding this problem - I suspect they either lost a server or got hit by a virus

RV.NET has had over a year's worth of technical problems. It started sometime around October, 2006. Rumor has it that the one guy who maintained both the hardware and software and knew them intimately, left. The Cold Fusion machine and the load balancers that run the various portals (RV.NET, Trailer Life, Woodalls) have also been an issue. It isn't clear what started it all but the current technical team doesn't seem to be able to come to grips with the problems. They did some work late last year that made things a little better but many of the "bugs" remain, perhaps occurring a little less often.
I suspect that some of RV.NET's Cold Fusion problems that have been hitting in the last few weeks finally caused some sort of major issue. It is either that or they, unlike most of my customers, have decided that Monday and Tuesday represent a better maintenance window than the weekend when there is a lot of forum traffic. I have no real inside information - this is all just speculation on my part.
I love IRV2. It is a mixed blessing that it doesn't get the traffic (read that posts for the same information over and over again) that RV.NET does. It has always amazed me the people lurk on that forum, figure out how to use and and post requests and then request information that has been provided 1000 times. I'd much prefer to use searches to get what I want because I don't have to wait for someone else to respond to my query but that is probably just me. I continue to learn a lot in both forums.

You would think that if it was a planned shutdown they would have anounced it online before the shutdown. Thats OK, I needed a reason to come over here anyway. Things run a lot better over here.

I'm not able to get on either. Oh well, it'll be back sooner or later.
