Yes, costs have gone up for everything and many of the parks we stayed at this summer are not open year round. So they hiked the rates by a lot, but it was eithr pay their rate, or try to find something else, was jut easier to pay the rate.

Been out for a month and haven't noticed any change in rates. What I have seen is a good jump in the price at the pump.

Most everywhere we have stayed in the past 2 months, except the Indian Casino rv parks, seem to have doubled their rates. even in little Mina Nevada rates have gone up $15 per night. So... we spent a lot more time driveway surfing this year and actually spent less money on parks that we usually do. the lowest was about $35 per night and the highest was $90 per night. We refused to stay for $90... I bought a macerator pump so I could pump my septic tanks 100 feet to the clean outs of our hosts houses. I quit boondockers welcome this year due to their media hype and no longer requiring members to own property. Now that they have become commercialized I'm no longer interested. Besides, most only allow 25 feet and below for exchange these days. Sadly the state and county campgrounds have become over crowded with the homeless so we didn't bother trying to get in there. what really surprised me was all the trash in Oregon and Washington in the cities. Homeless encampments were all along the freeways in the pacific northwest. Fuel rates were all above $4. the highest I paid at a truck stop was $4.29 per gallon for diesel. premium gas was higher.

Many parks are full or near and they can up the rates as they see fit.

I just completed a 22 day trip to South Dakota. Did not notice much of a change. High in tourist areas where I thought they would be and fair on the travel nights driving through 5 states. I notice the gas price increase also. But I do visit grandkids out of state and notice an increase in hotels rates also. I still get a better deal in my rig eating my own food and not in hotels Hope it continues. I live close to GSMP. The parks here have gone up a lot the last 2 years. I have noticed tougher cancellation fees. Hate that.

The lowest I've paid recently here locally is $4.39/gallon for diesel. My nearest station wants $4.89. I save 50 cents/gallon by driving another 5 miles.

As far as RV park rates, we typically stay in State Parks, so this hasn't been a real issue. But I would say when some politician realizes there is money to be had, the state park rates will increase.

We travel after Labor Day - typically for 3 months. We are out 1 week and have already used our PPA card twice (3 nights total at $21 night at 2 different parks. 1 FHU, 1 dry site). Most of our nights on this 3 month trip will on our Thousand Trails Elite membership, in 4 different areas that we enjoy and have visited previously. (Cottonwood, AZ, Apache Junction, AZ, Las Vegas, NV, and Tucson, AZ). We use KOAs to fill in on our trip out west from MN - rates vary widely but can be as low as $40 night or as high as $80. We added the Trails Collection to our Elite contract this year which gives us access to the Encore parks. Our average cost per night is around $20 excluding what we paid for the membership.

I question this statement. If you didn't bother trying to get in then how do you know? They wouldn't be staying there free, for sure. Name the parks.

Changes to campsite reservations.

I have been camping for many decades. Booked a private park for next year. 6RVS in our group. Charged us $15.00 to lock us into our site. This was in addition to two nights camping fee. Had no choice to pay. Doesn't mean we have to go here again. Noticed several campgrounds charge extra if you show up before the arrival time. Picturing 150 RVS showing up at the same check in time(3PM). One campground had a pumpout service for $8.00. Then it is $20.00 to use the dump station. A few years ago didn't pay for full hookups. Campground owner came and locked the dump drain at our site. I have free access to the State Parks for free dumping. Pet Peeve when showers are by coin only. Once anyone gets a taste for $ then the greed comes out.

Finished up a 20 day trip from GA to CO a few weeks ago. The most I paid for a park was about $55. Most were in the $40's. The only park that was nearly full was Cherry Creek State Park in Aurora CO. Otherwise most were about half to 2/3's full. The RV Park about a half mile outside of Palo Duro Canyon State Park in Canyon TX there were only about 6 to 8 RV's total for our two night stay (Saturday and Sunday).
