NYtimes/Wapo

Thats completely your call. Im not here to convince you of anything. I got better things to do. You are perfectly at liberty to believe whatever. But, the Wapo article was an interview with the creator of the MODELS that are being used by the admin. So to just discount it with a wave a of a hand is pretty simplistic. But, hey.. feel free.

Math
And it is a math problem until the scope of the number of people infected can be identified. The reality is 80 percent of the nation wont go to public gatherings without knowing the propagation of infection and without testing that wont be known .

Thats math..

Again, you can discount it but its reality. But just feel free to grouse about your rights being infringed.

I have a neighbor who’s wife has an auto immune issue so they are hunkered down in their home, and have been for a month...no one in or out! They are adamant they want no outside contact because of her fragile health.....so husband goes out on the 4 wheeler last weekend, looses control, rolls it, winds up in the ER....all exposed and now has to come home to his wife who is so susceptible to germs....STAY HOME!!!

Wow, both sides are represented pretty well in the controversial thread.

Watching/reading the news, editorials, etc I learned that if you test positive and die of old age, mark one for corona per CDC. NY just changed 3,000 deaths (heart attacks, etc) to corona (untested) because they might have had some of the symptoms before they died. The larger the number, the more 'blame' the politicians get to pass around.

It wasn't that long ago that politicians and health care guru were saying the virus would not be a problem, go to dinner in NYC, attend the parade, come to Mardi Gras. Things change, I guess.

While watching the politics, doctors, news folks, and now the 'back to work' protests, I'm wondering... how many of those 'stay at home' folks have missed a paycheck? How many of those have sufficient savings to handle the work pause?

Although I'm in the 'at risk' group, it is difficult to 'stay at home' when I do the grocery shopping for four 'at risk' families. In an effort to maximize my exposure to potential harm, I am forced to make multiple trips because of 'one item only' purchase limits. Not hard to split the package of TP, but splitting up a dozen eggs or a bottle of Ragu Spaghetti sauce is a challenge.

It still amazes me when watching people that are avoiding each other or carrying on a conversation from 6-10 feet away from each other. No confidential conversations anywhere, and I thought hearing one side of a telephone conversation was bad. At least we can hear both sides now.

I'm getting a lot of experience at puttering, though. I think 'puttering' is a lost art and wish I had been trained how to proficiently do it when I was younger.

I'd really like to get back to sitting in a cafe and ordering a cup of coffee, but not happening soon where I am. Too many people in stationary panic mode.

Must be slow here... I've gone through six pages of back and forth on what seems to me to be a rather simple topic.

I think now I'll go and try to answer a challenge I saw earlier today. Find the virus exception in the Constitution. It must be there somewhere!

Y'all take care, stay safe... and good health to you!

I would stay home if I were you. I won’t attack you for your decisions, that’s not the way to treat people. I would like you to consider these facts;

1.There are full timers out there with no S&B that need places to stay.

2. Why put yourself out there and possibly expose yourself or worse, your immune to the virus and YOU pass it on unknowingly to someone else.

3. By leaving your home you can cause any type of event to happen and require emergency service, pulling away resources from others that may need it.

Whatever you decide it’s your choice, this is America, home of the free, and corona virus!

This isn’t a virulent form of Ebola. We should all be afraid of that. This is a flu. Like last year’s flu the weakest people are the most vulnerable. If you are at risk and worried, protect yourself. Stay inside if you think that will make you safer. The rest of us should live our lives and take risks that we deem acceptable.

Poverty will kill more than this flu ever could.

It’s moot anyway, the President is outlining how to open up the country as I type.

I love it when people agree with a Vet but doesn’t believe the World renowned experts. On top of that some comparing social distancing orders with socialism. Wake up 35000 people died in one month, at this rate we’ll lose more people than we lost in Vietnam in two months!

Thank you so much! A camper can be safe anywhere if he wants too. Make that 5+ hour trip and live. "Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think!"

Did you get out camping? Hopefully. It's good for the psyche. Practice social distancing and it's one of the safest place to be. Recreation is good and recommended. Walking, hiking, bike riding etc. We're n a campground thats 76% empty. Can't see our closest neighbor. Very peaceful... When we head home we have to cross the width of the country.

Some facts about the area I live in. So far there have been no reported cases of CV in the county. No doubt it is in the area just none reported. With a population under 4000 people in an area just under 500 square miles I have seen more harm done so far from the social distancing stay in place order than any good accomplished. The major towns each have a health care clinic supported by a hospital from a neighboring county. All have been closed due to lack of business. The hospital itself look pretty empty the other day when I drove past it if the parking lot was any indication of what was going on inside. Since agriculture is the main industry in this county most business are considered essential so are not closed which is a good thing IMO. I would suspect the restaurants which are closed now may never open back up. Even in the best of times they struggle. The local bank closed it's door for now as it did not have drive up capabilities. County courthouse is closed as are the schools. The RV park that was mentioned is off the beaten path and seldom full in the best of times so am hoping the best for the person who runs it.

While I do not claim to be an expert on the subject I have been around animals all my life and I know how they respond to illness and my observations pretty much align with this article from a Vet.

Understand this vet’s opinion. It also reinforces what I have read about Spanish flu patients who, due to lack of space INSIDE hospitals, were put in beds outside of the hospitals. They were still cared for by the doctors and nurses, but their fatality rate and recovery times were better than those stuffed into hospital room's.

Copied and pasted, authors name at end.

This vet gets it, and it’s exactly what I think of this whole mess the gov has us in.

“Thoughts from an old veterinarian:

Wanna stay healthy? It’s a sunny warm day in north Texas. Maybe it is where you are.
Turn off your TV.
Plug your hand-held indoctrination device into a charger in a remote location in your home.
Go outside!!!!!
The Chinese virus is not outside your door waiting to pounce on you. It is not falling from the sky.
This is an enormous country. 99% of it does not have a serious problem with the disease.
Nearly every hospital in the nation is bleeding money, (especially your community hospitals) because they can’t function when people don’t show up. A very small amount of hospitals are dealing with serious problems. These are almost all in insanely densely populated areas. I pray for them and understand their dilemma. This is not, however, the norm.

This brings me to my main point.

I have been dealing with infectious diseases in animals for a long time. Outside your door is the most amazing natural healing environment that could ever be conceived. Warm sunshine to bolster your immunity and supercharge your vitamin D production; a breeze to disperse and dilute organisms and further expose them to UV ray destruction; and a chance to uplift your spirit and well-being in the enjoyment of this beautiful world our God has created.

I cringe when I read that people who test positive for the Chinese virus are told to stay inside for 2 weeks. If I have a group of calves that I believe has been exposed to a contagious infectious disease, the LAST thing I’m going to do is close them up in a barn. Talk about a perfect environment for incubating and protecting a virus! Am I going to turn them out in my herd? Of course not. But I’m damn sure going to treat them as appropriate and then get them out into Mother Nature’s healing center.

People, you have to start thinking for yourselves, here. Most of you aren’t thinking at all! (That’s how sheep act, and that’s another discussion.)

If you’re exposed to the virus, or if you think you are, or if you just don’t know or care, trust me. Locking yourself and your family inside a house is going to stress you (because your going to be watching one of your indoctrination devices and bickering with each other). It’s going to deprive you of healing and nurturing sunlight and optimal oxygen levels. And your immune system will get weaker, not stronger.

Here’s the big one: I heard this term weeks ago and your ever-honest and upfront media has since swept it under the rug.

“Herd Immunity” This will be the ultimate “cure” for this problem. Now of course your “experts” want you to believe that if you “hide out” until Bill Gates’ company can produce a vaccine, you’ll all get it and your wonderful government will have saved you. Bull S!

How does vaccination work, in theory? You get a dose of a weakened or altered or drastically reduced amount of the organism in question and your body (if you have a healthy immune system) creates an antibody response which offers some level of immunity to the disease. Simple, but accurate.

Here’s the “shocker.” This already happening for many of us. But not for those of you that are holed up in your “safe space.” Even in New York City, far more people are being naturally vaccinated against this disease than are getting sick. This is true - even in New York City - for almost every healthy person who has a passing exposure to the diluted organisms that might be blowing in the wind at the moment.

This is why this “curve” crap works itself out and why virtually no models are correct. It’s left out of every calculation.

Now, if you’re a 76-year-old smoker, should you go to Manhattan and lick door knobs? Of course not. But to think that healthy people, especially in less densely populated areas should stay in the house or not go to work or anywhere else is asinine.

I’m not staying home. Am I avoiding crowds? Yes. Am I taking reasonable precautions? Of course. Am I wearing a mask? Hell no! I believe and understand the germ theory. I’ve made a living from it. We don’t have to be bubble children, folks. God designed us better than that.

If you’re immunocompromized, use logic. If you’re ill, take proper precautions. If you’re elderly or a smoker or don’t think you’re healthy, live accordingly. But for the overwhelming number of the rest of us, please think and reason. This isn’t the Armageddon.

It’s time to wake up. “Experts” want to you to buy into mathematic models. Friends, this isn’t math. It’s biology. It’s time to get outside and live in joy and thanksgiving, not in fear.

God bless you all and God bless the America I want back TODAY.”

~ Written by Greg Buenger

Again thank you for all the comments and concerns. If you ever get to this part of the world and see me walking the road, which I do everyday stop and say hello. Hopefully the state will hold to the April 15 cut off on the stay at home. If so maybe we will all end up in the same park and can enjoy a visit.

Happy Easter

He has risen. He has risen indeed!
