RV Park Recommendations for Rio Grande Valley

For the first time I plan to spend the winter in RGV and have no idea which park to choose. My preferences include 55+, activities for us old folk, clean and spacious, plus reasonable rates. I may also be interested Rockport/Port Aransas area. TIA

Try Winter Ranch in Alamo. We have stayed there and pre-covid they met your criteria. Last year was not so good because of the lockdown, most activities were cancelled or curtailed. Not to mention the unusually cold weather. We are hoping this coming season will be back to normal. It is a Wilder RV Resorts park, they have a website, check it out.

RGV

I like Victoria Palms (Part of my Thousand Trails "Collection" membership).
You can see reviews at the sister site to this one.

https://www.campgroundreviews.com/

Victoria Palms is huge and surrounded by a fence - guard gate 24/7. Not much ability to walk outside the park as there are no sidewalks and it can be a rough area. But otherwise fine to drive to store, restaurants etc nearby.

It is on the highway so the park has highway noise.

But the amenities are great so I guess I'd still recommend it.

See the 'Search' box on the top? Type in Rockport and/or Port Aransas and a lot of recommendation appear.

Keep in mind that it doesn't happen multiple times each winter but you'd really need to get to the RGV to escape freezing temps. Port A and Rockport can get cold and even a tad icy. It doesn't last too long. But a cold damp wind in either place can feel awfully cold.

We canceled our trip 21-22 to S TX due to influx of illegals crossing nearby. Friend there reporting problems.

I think this would cause my vote to push me more toward Rockport.
