RV Park Snob? Or is it something else?
We travel with other friends, and one couple in particular wants to avoid either state parks, or parks that that don't look like a high end resort? Their reasoning is that there is too much riff raff that will rip you off. We don't mind staying in state or other well maintained RV parks. I've never been vandalized or ripped off. This couple locks their storage compartments and every lock on their coach even when they are inside. What's other people's experience or thoughts around this? Regards, Marc

Probably 80% of our stays are state parks, the remainder are Passport America types. Except for Disney World Fort Wilderness, I don't think we have ever stayed in a park that looks like a high end resorts. Never once in 50 years have we ever had a problem.

Well, travel with them or not, the choice is yours to make. Why worry about it?

Right you are, probably the reason they haven't been on our last few trips, we book the park, and it is up to them.

Public parks are always our first choice - national forest, national parks, state parks, COE, county and city, along with lots of boondocking in the wilds. Never had any problem and found the people staying there to be great. They typical love nature and beautiful areas, as we do. They are also active, outdoors people - not ones to sit in front of the t.v..

I would stay here vs Rv parks with full timers. Sorry. But that is where riffraff is. And would lock my storage bays all the time.

Rv park snob? Or is it something else?
That couple is uncomfortable, insecure in places unfamiliar. It ain't their fault! Locking doors and bays is just a reflex action.
Chill out. Be patient.
Ain't nothing here that a good beer and a friendly talk wouldn't help.
Both sides need to talk honestly, listen carefully, and learn the differences in their camping styles.
This has worked for me many times!
Best wishes

I use State Parks, COEs, etc, frequently but I prefer parks with full hookups. Moving the bus to visit the dump is a bit of a nuisance. The people are fine nearly everywhere.

We sometimes lock our bays, but not always. Our home is a bit remote, we have neighbors but the closest is at the top of road, we're about 1000 feet off the main road and surrounded by our 20 acres....we often don't have a door locked. I guess it depends on the circumstances.
Friendship is like any relationship, 50/50...if you value their friendship then maybe meet them halfway....

I agree, we don't have an issue staying in the high end parks, but in lots of cases they are not where we want to go. So as yours we compromise!
